Don't spend all day on your "Big day" checking that everyone else is ok. Its your day and it will go sooo fast - Just enjoy every minute of it
Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan

Make sure that you have fun and don't lose sight of the reason for the day - your commitment to each other for the rest of your lives.

Time is your friend, I know we would all get married tomorrow if it was that easy, but picking a date a few years in advance gives you time to save, reduces the stress of planning, gives you time to shop around diy and cut the costs, it also means you won't have to compromise because suppliers are fully booked. Take the planning one step at a time dont rush and enjoy it!!

Make a list of suppliers and costs and plan, prioritise & divide your payments so you're dealing with manageable amounts. Don't get yourself in a mess with big lump sums towards the end when there isn't much time left!

Put together a provisional guest list before going to see any reception venues. When booking, ask the room sizes as if too big / too small to fit your party there is no point in going to view. This saved us a LOT of time.

I found the budget tool on here really useful as it made me realise how much was being spent on our special day, so my top tip is:
Use whatever tools you can, whether it be on UKBride or anywhere, to help you with your budget, planning, ideas and inspiration.

Get close friends and family involved. It can save time, money and make the planning much more enjoyable.

Have fun!
Planning can be stressful, don't let it get to you. Make it fun. If something is going wrong, leave it and concentrate on something enjoyable. You can come back to it later and you'll view it differently if you've done something good.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
If your struggling for penny's and can't think of any favour gift idea's, have a sweet buffet table with a personalised sweet bags. Have a simple message saying "thank you for sharing our day". Let your guest help themselves to your buffet table as and when they leave. Your guest will love it :) x

If your on a budget try making things (decorations, sweet tables, favours, flowers) yourself, a lot of things are easy to make and are a fraction of the cost that people charge. Saved me thousands.

Try to not be too upset if your dream first choice for a venue/photographer/shoes/entertainment/whatever falls through - you'll definitely find something even better and possibly at a better cost if you dig a little deeper :)
