Well after looking over and over and over at hotels in Northern Ireland I am at a dead loss. Think we need a hotel for the reception as there are a few elderly people in the weeding party who would need a room to go to for a rest. Thing is though the one I like is so exspensive for what is included, so I need your help. Anyone been to hotel receptions in Northern Ireland that could advise? Or even better and brides or brides to be out there having thier reception in Northern Ireland? Personally I like quite traditional settings, stone walls, beams etc, so was thinking maybe a guest house would be best but then we're having 85 for sit down meal so where do you put them all!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Anywhere in particular in Northern Ireland to help narrow it down a bit?

Well the ceremony is in Lisburn so within an hours' drive radius would be as far as we could go really. Maybe a bit further for the perfect place!

Have you looked at Knockagh Lodge in Carrickfergus? Seems quite reasonable but obviously don't know your budget. Sorry I can't help much, good luck though! xx

Best thing to do is to go to google maps and type in Lisburn, Northern Ireland

When it comes up with the map and the little red A click on the A to get a box taht has details and hyperlinks. One of these links should say search nearby. Click it and type into the search field wedding venues - may help you find something you haven't looked at yet! xxx

Yes looked at Knockagh Lodge but just didn't really have the wow factor for me. With the budget I would like to save as much as possible but we have set aside £6000 for the reception.

Will do thanks Lovelylainee, just wanted to see if anyone on here had first hand experinces. I think photos can sometimes not do a place justice or vice versa. I know it is out there, just not sure where or how to find it haha!

Best bet is to look even online and see what they cost of they have quotes on their website or rough pricing. Go visit. Some venues you need to see for yourself. Rob had to with ours before he fell in love with it as much as i did!

Is Larchfield Estate too pricey? Or have you looked at that already? Maybe a new venue will be built by the time your wedding comes around and it will be all your dreams come true, lol. I am sure one of the girls will save you, but I have never even been to Ireland to help. :)

yeah usually is - but we took months venue hunting to find the right one - go to wedding fayres as we got recommendations for venues from suppliers who enjoyed working at them because the people who run the venue are brilliant etc.

Best of luck hun and use the time you have to go searching - if you get lots of viewings in that is normal - like house hunting only more fun :) xxx

Ah sorry I forgot about the rooms, have you gone on the wedding sites that list all the venues in the area you want?

Oh girlies I feel so much calmer after talking to you on here. You're right I have plenty of time, just make the most of it, afterall It's only going to happen once so I should squeeze every drop out it. Just don't like things hanging over me, but I'm not going to rush it, Thanks girls xoxo
