    Hey everyone...

What are people's thoughts - I have a colour theme dilemma.... If I had a blank canvas, or weren't on such a tight budget, I would probably go with a purple/silver theme, but my venue is lovely looking inside, with a dark wood/gold/burgundy colour scheme, and I don't have the money for chair covers, so I was thinking of going with a gold/burgundy theme instead, so that everything looks co-ordinated without having to spend alot to cover over the natural colour of the chairs etc. Now I don't mind gold/burgundy, but if I'm honest I like purple more than burgundy....

What would you do - aim for the cheaper overall matching look, or turn a blind eye to the fact the chairs etc don't match, and go with your favourite colours for the bridesmaids and table decorations?

Thanks guys - I am off to visit Mum shortly (she lives down south and I live up north so we don't get to see each other that often), and we're doing weddingy stuff like dress trying on, and figuring out the decorations (I'm doing as much as possible myself to keep the costs down, as we both enjoy arts and crafts type stuff) etc. so we'll be checking out what's available... Of course if I do decide on the purple, then there is the agony of which purple to go for - LOL

Well I've stuck with the burgundy in the end, but gone with burgundy and silver. Had a lovely few days with Mum, in which we managed to sort the dress, shoes, centre pieces for the tables, and a few other bits and pieces - YAY! Dress gave us a whole idea for a theme, which is very subtly edging towards fantasy, so lots of soft "etheral" things like feathers, coloured reedy grass, glass vases with little LED fairy lights and glass pebbles inside - stuff like that :-)

because of what my venue has in the rooms i have decided on a nuteral colour scheme, iv gone for ivory as if i had chosen my favorite colour it would really wreck the room as the room has loads old piicies and antiques in it, but i quite like ivory now lol

if I went with my venue colour it would be all old wood, gold, green and red!! SO not my colours. You can get lycra chair covers now which are VERY cheap, if you did want to cover the chairs.

For me chair covers and sashes make the room, and ties in your colour scheme with your table decorations and bridesmaid dresses. I have having purple, silver and pearl and sparkles as my theme, so hopefully nobody will notice the wooden walls and colourful roof at my venue!

We've chosen our colour scheme based on what we want rather than anything else... thankfully our choice is pretty simple, as we're looking at ivory and silver :)

We have been lucky with our venue. It is very neutral which means we can go the whole hog and have chair covers and large centre pieces which is what we wanted :0) Plus they also have a lighting system which will fill the alcoves with a light to match our colours. Really pleased about that! x

our venue is kind of neutral it has ivory mostly and gorgeous deep blue chairs which luckily tie in with our theme as we cant really afford chair covers but our colours are monochrome and blues with silver details

When I first went to view our venue I thought i would have to have the red and white theme because they had huge red and white parachute type covering the ceiling, but the rest of the room was a deep red and gold. im now having brown and orange (unless i change my mind again lol) so i dont think it matters at all x
