    Hi everyone,

First of all sorry for the long message - but thought the more details I put the better!

I've now started my planning in earnest but am in a real quandry over my colour scheme. I absolutely LOVE green especially Emerald and was originally planning on having my bridesmaids in this and incorporating it in the rest of the colour scheme.

However the more I think about it I think maybe it's too strong a colour to use in such a big block as this and maybe it would be better to use it as an accent colour. I'm definately having emerald green shoes and jewellery; but now my problem is what to use for the other colours and especially for the bridesmaid dresses.

The wedding is travel themed and at the end of May so I really want it to be colourful as it will be late spring early summer. My current thought is to have the bridesmaids in some sort of bright blue (maybe cobalt) and have their flowers as yellow (maybe sunflowers) and my bouquet slightly different (I'd like it to have the same yellow but also blue and some greenery to stand out against my light ivory dress.

Do you think those colours would work together or still be too strong? I was then thinking along the lines of having very simple centre pieces - stacked goldfish bowls with a few yellow flowers floating in them the same as the bouquet with blue pebbles in the bottom. My dilemma then though is what colour to have the chair sashes (emerald, blue or yellow) and also the same question goes for napkins and sprinkles on the tables (blue or green)?

Please can you let me have your thoughts on the above colour scheme and also suggest anything you think may work better. Only colours I really want to avoid is red, pink, purples and orange.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks loads

Go for the green that you like. My sister had a Jade green years ago when she got married. The bridesmaids had Jade green dresses with cream sashes around the waist band. They had flower rings for to wear on their heads and cream coloured flowers. She also has it as her colour scheme for tables with the jade being subtle. Cream table cloths with jade runners. it looked great.

i was a bridesmaid at my cousins wedding and i wore mint green. at first i hated the colour but on the day i loved it =) i think that you should have alternate green chair covers with yellow sash's and blue chair covers with yellow sash's

go for the green you love! We are having turquoise and silver, and like you I originally thought turquoise dresses might be a bit strong but then changed my mind and thought no, thats our colours, its going to be summer (end of May also!) it'll look lovely!
Emerald green is such a lovely shade too, i think you should definitely go for it!
