Hi all, need a bit of advice. Have ordered my bridesmaid dresses and have now gone to get the mens suits and they dont have the ruffled ties in the right colour. I have been in every material shop and mens shops known to man in swansea 2day and cant find anything the same shade!!! What do i do???? does anyone have any idea? I went back to the shop where i got bridesmaid dresses and the supplier would charge me £45 a meter for the fabric!!!!! Absolutely extortionate!!! Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.xxx

I bought normal ties from M&S. Men can use them again as well.

i dont know if theyve got the right shade but i will have a look there. Are normal ties as formal looking as the schrunched ones? I loved the scrunchy ones, he looked so handsome!!!!hehe. i never thought it would be this hard to colour match though.

I suppose it all comes down to taste in the end. I love normal ties, others like cravats, others bowties, others ruches. I think ties are the easiest to colour match though.

My h2b and men are having ties and I found a supplier on ebay who does both ties and cravats in loads of different colours and I was fortunate that he does the right colour for me.

My bridesmaids dresses are all slightly too long so I'm having them altered, all the material that is taken from the dresses will be given back to me so I can have the men's cravats made.. but if this isn't an option for you then I wouldn't worry that you can't get a match, just try and get the closet to it you can, I bet 99% of people wouldn't even think about them not matching

i think i may have to go with a slightly different colour with the way its going. Dont know whether a different colour shade, change to silver or go with the exact colour normal tie is the way to go. :-(
5thNovBride: Yes please!!! i would love to have the link. i can have a quick check then. Thanks so much

I can't post on your wall yet until you add me so I posted the link on my wall. Funny thing is they describe the purple as cadbury purple.

Hope that you manage to find something. I have gold and duck egg blue and both are a nightmare to source. Its amazing how many shades of both there is.

itsnt it just. its surprizing how u can think that ur colour is a popular, ordinary colour until u place it nxt to fabrics and things when u want 2 match up. i did match my colour to a cushion in a shop the other day, shame it had ruffles all over it or i would have bought loads of them and taken them appart!!! im that desperate, lol
