I felt totally bloat free! didnt weigh myself cause my scales are rubbish. Just been to fat club though and my weight stayed the same as last week, even though I have eaten cr@p all week. so i think its done something.
DONT go if you might be pregnant though. It contracts your colon which can contract the womb and cause miscarriage

I'm going to keep an eye out for this on google, have thought about it for a while but reading this thread makes it sound all good and not yucky at all.
Linzi - you should always use your scales on a hard floor (bathroom, kitchen?) not carpet, it can't weigh you properly on a carpet because it sinks into the carpet so can't give an accurate reading. Oh and always have the scales in the same place and weigh yourself at the same time of day.
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
It sounds like this really might be worth a try. Was chatting with a friend and she said if I go first then she might go along as she would love to get all the rubbish toxins etc out of her. Going to have to look around and see who does it nearby to me.

I have wanted to try this for years and an offer finally came up on group on. I went Saturday for my first session which cost me £29, it was in Angel Spa, Droitwich Spa. The lady who does the procedure was lovely, asked me why I was doing it asked some questions about my health and how regular I am then explained everything about the procedure and what she was going to do. I then had to strip off my bottom half and put a gown on, she left me for a few minutes telling me how to position myself on the bed for when she returned. I had the choice of inserting the tube myself or her doing it, I asked her to do it, I'd probably do it wrong. She then started by emptying a cylinder of water via the tube into my colon, she said once I feel the urge to push I should. I must admit it felt really weird especially emptying my bowels whilst lying on a table with a woman stood talking to me. She was brilliant though, telling me that I was doing well and explaining what was coming through the tube and what to look out for. She left me on my own for most of it, popping in every couple of minutes to see if I wanted anything.
Once I'd finished she talked to me about diet and what vitamins I should be taking as she felt I was vitamin b deficient, she recommended probiotics and I bought some powdered probiotics from her and booked myself in for 2 weeks time.
I have not lost a dramatic amount of weight or changed into a new bouncy energetic character over night but my skin and eyes are clearer, I feel happier and I don't have any bloating. There is nothing on this planet that can transform someone over night but I'm going to try 3 sessions close together then another in 6 months and then before the wedding. One thing that has amazed me is that I have not felt the need to eat anything sweet or fatty, in fact I've only eaten my 3 meals a day and felt no need to snack. If this keeps up I may lose a few lbs.

As part of the consultation they'll ask about medication and won't let you have the treatment if not suitable.

I enquired about the clinic near me and it's normally £60 a session but they've an offer on this month for £10 off. I'm still thinking about it, but being a bit whimpy and scared as well though lol

I think if I hadn't previously been subjected to a colonoscopy (which is definitely uncomfortable) I might consider it at some point as I get bloating all the time and have IBS. But my last experience of tubes up my bum was not nice. Being filled with air is very uncomfortable to say the least. And it probably doesn't help with everything else. Is there any prep for it or do you just go and let them get on with it? Do you have to take anything beforehand I mean to make you go.
I must be crazy giving myself only 6 months!

If you have any prior conditions such as IBS the clinic I'm going to will have a consultation with you then ask you to take some herbal supplements in preparation for your first session - however as I don't suffer from those I can have my consultation at the same time as my first session, so total appointment time is 90 mins. It's at 11am and they say I must have a light breakfast e.g. weetabix as otherwise you can feel light headed during the treatment, but no heavy breakfast like a full English. It's not air but water that they use in the therapy - I had a few questions so I emailed the consultant before I booked to ask some preliminary questions - each session is private, the feedback says the tube insertion is not painful at all etc. Maybe you should ask some preliminary questions to see if you want to go for it - my partner suffered from piles a few years ago as a one off and was worried about the tube insertion, but our initial answer to this was it shouldn't be a problem and she could discuss it further at the consultation etc.

@stressed to max b2b, you've just made me spray my tea out of my mouth, that's hilarious!
First of all the tube that is inserted is about the same thickness and a pen, possibly even thinner. It is only inserted around 2-3cm and although it wasn't a nice experience it wasn't painful at all more weird than anything. With me a cylinder of treated water was slowly filtered through the tube and eventually you get the sensation to push as if you are going to the toilet when you do this the water (and whatever else) comes out of your bottom bypassing the tube. That was the only unpleasant part of the experience for me the fact that I felt weird evacuating my bowels on a bed with a hole in it. There is some slight period like pain before you are ready to push. There are no smells at all and you are completely covered with a gown and a towel.

Well, It's been 4 weeks since I had the first one and I've since had 2 more and I've got another one in 2 weeks. I'm not an habitual user of weighing scales because I'm always heavier than I look. Anyway, for the past year my weight has not decreased at all no matter what I do and I was getting fed up of it. Before I had my first colonic I weighed myself and I was 9st13lb, I didn't bother weighing myself after because I knew it wouldn't have made a big difference. My diet completely changed, whereas I found it hard not to eat chocolate and cakes, I just haven't been tempted, I've been eating more fruit and veg as well as other vitamin rich and super foods. I've been taking probiotics to keep the good bacteria in my colon. I've kept up my usual workouts twice a week plus the brisk walks to and from work. Today I weighed myself and I'm 9st5lbs!!! I'm so glad I had the colonic because I really think it has helped with sugar cravings and made me think more about what I'm putting in my mouth. I haven't had an alcoholic drink for 3 weeks, I've cut down to 1 coffee a day, drinking heaps more water and the biggest and most shocking change is switching from semi skimmed to skimmed milk (I can't believe it makes no difference to taste) even on my cereal.
I can't recommend it enough, the next one is going to be my last for about 6 months. I think you definitely need more than one session to start off though. My first one didn't produce much "waste" but the second one seemed to have broken through a barrier and yesterday it was non stop. My h2b says he was right all a long I am full of it. He had it done yesterday as well but he hated every minute of it and will never have it done again.
Hope this helps ladies. If there are any of you near Droitwich Spa then I can recommend Hydrocleanse based at Angel Spa.

Well a certain deals company that is supposed to have the 'wow' factor emailed me a voucher today for colonic for £17, for a gym that closed down over a month ago.
CommentAuthorbridalmiss
Ok, had my second this week about 4 weeks after the first, and it was a lot more productive as Shirleygirly said above - in the first 10 minutes they reckoned I'd passed what I had in the first session! Not noticed any significant weight loss but definitely less bloating around the stomach, and finding I'm eating less processed foods as you become more aware of what you're eating I guess. Got my next one booked 5 days before the wedding :-)
CommentAuthorShirleygirly
I had my last one over a month ago and my eating habits are still good but I feel I am slipping a bit, I'm going to book a couple more at the end of May. I don't think the colonic is a quick weight loss plan but it does make you feel better and more disciplined about what you eat and drink. I used to struggle to drink enough water but now I'm in the habit of drinking 2 litres a day. My h2b bought me a beautiful dress for my cousins wedding in August and I couldn't get the zip up. I kept it because I had every intention of fitting into it and I tried it the other week, zipped up without a hitch. I honestly didn't think it would happen because of my bust but I appear to have lost weight off my back, the fatty lumps that sit under my bra that I thought would never go.
I really hope you all get the same results as me because I feel so good about myself. I know I needed the colonic because I felt I had a blockage for years and now I know I was right. My brother and sister have always been really slim and although I've never been fat I've always had a chubbier frame than them. Not anymore!

I can highly recommend colonis therapy. I had terrible stomach problems with IBS and some medication side effect and a series colonic not only improved my comfort but it kick started my bodies own healing process so that i recovered from the other conditions as well. I also lost 2 and a half stone. I would recommend going to see a professional colonic therapist though. Some one registered with the association of Registered Colon Hydrotherapists.
Recently I've been feeling quite bloaty with bad skin so this thread has prompted me to make a booking.

Hi,
Has anyone done any of this recently? Also, how many times would you say is 'best'? Just the once, or a number of times? Currently looking at 'trying one out' but am unsure so was wondering what you ladies have thought? Bizarre I know, but somehow feel more comfortable asking your advice than my OH!

I had it 3 times within 2 months before my wedding, and now think I'll do it about 3 times a year for general maintenance - feels like a good clean out and you feel less likely to eat rubbish in the days after, plus it helps your movements to be more regular and consistent, so your weight loss is maintained - it's not a quick miracle fix by all means but on my 3rd session I lost 3 lbs :-)
CommentAuthorShirleygirly
I noticed a slight difference after one session but I needed more. I had four over 2 months, then 2 months later I had another. The last one was 30th June and I'm going to book in again for October. The day of my first I weighed myself and I was 10 stone, I currently weight 8 1/2 stone. Don't get me wrong the weight loss is not entirely down to colonics but since doing it I drink more water, I watch what I eat, I've cut out bread, red meat, cakes and pasta. If I have treats they are from the weight watchers range. I love snack a jacks with light philadelphia, choc Philly on fruit ryvita, I eat more fruit. I've switched from semi skimmed to skimmed milk (amazingly semi skimmed tastes horrible now) I only use milk on my cereal as I don't drink my 10 cups of coffee anymore I have green tea (blueberry flavour with a bit of honey is lovely). Along with the dietary changes I am exercising more because I have more energy and don't struggle with early mornings which helps me sleep better at night. I don't feel hungry and I don't feel I'm missing out when everyone is stuffing their faces with cakes and chocs. I've had a few naughty days but I don't get upset about it as long as it stays only a few amnd this usually happens around my period.
I can't for sure say that colonics is the way forward for everyone but if you feel like your digestive system is sluggish and needs a boost it could well be the answer. I decided to do it because I really struggled to lose weight even though I'm really active, I could sometimes go a couple of days without going for a number 2 and would often have really bad constipation followed by bouts of diarrhoea. Since the sessions I've been regular as clockwork. The lady who does mine said she thinks there was a build up and it's been cleared up but to rebook if I feel it's getting sluggish again and although I don't feel that it's slowing down, I have had some irregularities following a course of antibiotics so just need a clear out. I've also been taking probiotics everyday which is keeping my good bacteria levels up.
I would highly recommend you give it a go but if it doesn't work after the first session don't give up on it, I've not known anyone who only requires the one. If you think how long red meat stays in your colon and how much you've eaten over the years there is bound to be a back log. I used to love steak but haven't had one since and I don't miss it at all.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Shirley. When you went did the woman suggest how many to book originally? It's not really for weightloss as I'm doing WW for that but am having issues & feeling ergh all the time & weight loss is slowing down as well so if it gives it a push in right direction (no pun intended) then all for it! She didn't tell me how many to book but she did tell me that I will notice a change in what goes through the pipe, she also said that the feeling afterwards is quite addictive because you do feel really cleansed so she said she would tell me when she thinks I've had enough. Luckily after my fourth I could see it was a huge improvement on the amount of waste coming through and she agreed, she just told me to come back when I need to and she said I will know when I need it. It sounds to me like it's exactly what you need to boost what ww is already doing for you. My parents have been on ww since January and they've got me into the branded food and snacks, every time I go to their house my mum is getting me to try the new treats. Good luck with it, I hope it gives you the same benefits as me.xx

I going to give this a go after reading about all the benefits on this thread. Have been thinking about having one for the past year! So expensive though - will put the word out on FB and Twitter asking if anyone knows of a cheap one in my area!
At the minute I'm on Jason Vale's 3 day juice detox and then I'm going to try his 7lbs in 7 days diet then I'll give the colonic a go and see how much weight I lose (My BMI says I'm obese so I need this!)
