I have a budget of around £100 per adult bridesmaid - could go up to £125 for the perfect dress but all the ones in the bridal shops are £180+ I'm not being tight but with 4 bridesmaids I really can't justify spending that much on something they will never wear again. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of places that do dresses that are in my price range. Don't want to get them from the high street as i am thinking of having them all in different shades of pastel so that will be difficult...or if anyone can recommend a good dress maker that can do it for that sort of price in essex/east london....?
Thanks!

I got mine from bhs. They have quite a large selection of bridesmaid dresses

I saw mine on a website and then went to their place in Croydon - is that too far for you? They have hundreds of amazing dresses - my girls ended up picking one of their most expensive so was just over £100 per dress. They are made in China but having a shop you can go and see/try on exact quality. I'll put link on your wall x

kitty have you looked in places like Debenhams, bhs etc...they sometimes do same dresses but different colours xxx

yeah i loved the twist and wrap dresses but they don't do them in pastels sadly! :( and the ones i have seen in debenhams/bhs in diff colours have been silk/taffeta which two BMs have said they really don't like...im gonna have to keep looking - so silly there is such a big jump between budget and budget busting! will defo have a look at the place in croydon...its not that far i guess! :) xx
have they tried them on before deciding they don't like them? clothes can seem very different when they are on to what they are like hung up on a hanger... xxx
CommentAuthorkittyh
Haha no they definitely won't budge on the silk/taffeta thing! it was the one specific thing the two of them said they wouldn't wear they are all happy to wear anything else style/colour wise but not that...which is fair enough i suppose the last thing i want is them in something they are miserable in! xx

I would get your bridesmaids to try some on in those materials hun, one of mine said she would wear anything as long as it wasn't halter neck, and the ones we bought (which she tried on and loved more than any of the others) was a halter neck dress! Don't rule things out without having them try them first :) xxx
Got together 14.02.2008
Got engaged 31.12.2010
Will become a Mrs on 30.08.2014 xxxxxx

I'm getting mine made by a couple of wedding dressmaker ladies, they are based in Nuneaton but you can also order online etc. I really loved some of their dresses I saw on their website and their book of face page so I went in to see them and talked my ideas over - I really liked one of their dresses but wanted a few slight changes. They said this is fine, they will make any change you want i.e. add/remove a strap, change the length, colour, etc. Their dresses are £95 each knee length or £105 each for long dresses. Their wedding dresses look beautiful too but I already have mine. Let me know if you want me to put the details on your wall x

This might sound a bit tight, but….
I have 2 adult bridesmaids, my 2 nieces as junior bridesmaids and my daughter & niece will be flowergirls. I've got a colour scheme in mind and I've told my maids that they can choose any colour in the selected theme, with any style of dress they want - so long as I see it beforehand and we all agree that they compliment each other! I am contributing £40 towards their dresses and if they want something that costs more, they have agreed to put the money towards it.
I'd rather they got a dress they'd be able to wear again, than pay over the odds for something that will hang in a wardrobe. That really famous auction website have a lot of pretty dresses (some UK based companies as well as Chinese).
Hope you find something that suits your budget! x

Hi, I got my BM dresses from box of light. They are really well made, good quality, and the colour is perfect. You can filter on material, and pick your colours from an online swatch.
All in all I paid £150 for two satin adult BM dresses from them x
