I wondered this too - because in the year categories there are some months that have been allowed to stay open, and others that got closed.

yes i wondered why it had to as there is loads open for other months aswell,so can we talk about it in the maoin wedding calender then?

I think the other months are still open because they are older posts, when they come to the front they are sunk or closed. But to stop us having 30 discussions on one month (the 1st - 30th) we came up with the wedding calender idea, so people could see who was getting married the same time as them, become their 'friend' and then contact them via pm etc to see how there plans were coming etc and to stop the forum from clogging up.........obviously a few have gone unnoticed by us and as new members join they revise old discussions like this, so we close them when they come back up. Hope this helps.

So what sort of discussions were envisaged to happen in the categories like 2011, 2012 then? I can definitely see we don't want a discussion started for each day of each month, but what's wrong with one discussion per month in the year based categories?
PS. not trying to be difficult or anything, just want to understand what should be in those year categories n stuff

the july 2011 was started in middle sept so has been going for a while so thought i wasnt a problem ,i agree faeth be silly to have one for each day lol x
