I want to get something which will keep the chill off in case it's a tad nippy at the start of October. I've seen a shawl and a cloak but unsure which one to get or to go for both, shawl for daytime and cloak for evening?? What are your views??

This is a hard one, i like them both! but think i prefer the shawl personally, but that might be because i purchased the very same ones for my bridesmaids. x

i love the cloak rather than the shawl, you won't need the shawl once your inside so i think the cloak is the way to go

I love the cloak as well but also quite like the shawl. I may just get both as they are not expensive and see which one goes best when I try the dress on. X

I tried a shawl on like the piccie above and it did nothing for me as all that could be seen was my big b00bs sticking out underneath lol I'm loving he cloak though. That is gorgeous. I've recently bought a pashmina from n e x t in ivory with a few glittery bits on. Was only £18 I think and it's so soft. Was thinking of using thatto wrap round me if it gets really cold (i'm expecting it to be with us having a November wedding ) x

i'd go for the cloak, long as it matches the style of your dress.

it adds that romantic fairytale touch...love it!

I love the fur shrug - ever so elegant. That said - the cloak is quite the showstopper. I like the reverse little red riding hood impression with the red dress BUT I think the skirt is too fussy with the cloak against it. The cloak is all smooth and the skirt so ruffled - it looks uneven and creased to me that way. So I guess it depends on your dress!

And the other thing - they are both very wintery and christmassy. Beginning of October is autumn - I'd find an elegant mohair cardigan much more appropriate.

I have to say that I think I prefer the shawl, to me it looks much more elegant than the cape does, but thats just my opinion :) xxx

Oh I have both these in my bay of e, I am getting married in December and have been watching the cape, and the shawl, I really can't make my mind up either on which I prefer, I think they are both gorgeous. I do think I am tending towards the cape though. I was thinking of trying both types on in a bridal shop and seeing which suited me more, and which suited the dress I will be wearing more. I think you will look stunning in either :)

Donda i think for a december wedding the cloak is definately the better choice.....(think ice queen from the lion the witch and the wardrobe).
I wanted a winter wonderland wedding theme, but H2B wanted a summer wedding :( and if we had had a winter wedding a cloak like that would have been top of my list before i even got a dress. LOVE it.

Glitter fairy.....as much as i love the cloak, for an October wedding i think maybe the fur stole would be the best choice as i mentioned above, i think the cloak is more for a winter wedding.
