Met our toastmaster briefly today and he got to talking about clearing down after you've eaten and had the speeches. Thing is, we're having a marquee and so the dance floor and tables are all in there. He sounded like it's the norm to REMOVE the tables, and turn it into just an evening room but I can't be doing with that - anyone else come accross this/been to a wedding where they did it?

We went to a wedding where they moved the tables from the middle of the room to nearer the sides so there was more room for partying :o)

I had a ball in a marquee, and the dancefloor was in the middle. The tables were moved off of the dancefloor after the food and were a bit more squished together around the edge!

We will be removing most of the tables, partly because we will need the space and partly to encourage people to dance! Obviously we will leave plenty of chairs out.

Sounds a good idea with long tables, but we're having 5' round ones...

I think (depending on size) they tend to move some of the tables out or, as Tinsel says move them to the side.

Our venue does this as two of the tables are on the dance floor so after the meal the tables get moved and the carpet comes up off the dance floor.

It's different in marquees though, isn't it? I think I'm safer having the space because if it rains...

our wedding breakfast is in a marque and the top table is being set up on the dance floor, so once everything is done then the top table will be taken down but all the other ones will stay where they are, as they will be set up so u can still get to the dance floor and have room xx

Oooh I didn't even think about this. Im gonna have to ring my venue and ask them how they do it. Don't fancy the idea of them taking away the tables, thats what has all the best decorations on them! x
