Anyone got any tips for me how to clean my engagment ring? Its 9ct white gold which diamond setting with a twist, an is just looking a bit grubby after 2 years!
Met June 2009 on my Birthday,Met again July 2009 and got
together, May 2010 Moved in,Jan 2011 got pregnant,
August 2011 Got our own place, 2011 Had our Baby Girl,
Dec 2011 Got engaged, July 2015 Getting married! Yay!
I would say take it to the jewellers as I did. Mine was looking really dull and I took it to 2 separate jewellers and they both advised me to have the ring re- rhodium plated. I looks like new now all sparkly like when I first got it :-) (Mine is white gold with 1 stone)

A jeweller I use said the best thing for diamond jewellery is a solution of Ajax with ammonia, mixed with part boiling water. Soak the ring and buff with a cloth... However I cannot get hold of Ajax with ammonia in the uk at all without silly shipping fees. He said this works better than them specially cleaning it

I took mine to the jewellers and gonna get it done again just before the wedding and re dipped so they both look the same colour and sparkle wise, only about £13 where my ring is from x

I use a jewellery cleaner which you can get off the bay or bargains for homes. Only costs a couple of quid and gives the diamond an amazing sparkle

Toothpaste, however it only cost me about £5 to have it done professionally

Hi there
I work for a large chain that deals with Jewellery, and the best way to do it if there is no need for a re-rhodium is boiling water and st4r dr0ps leave to soak for 20 mins, a soft toothbrush working to the back of the stone(s) rinse & repeat, rinse and kitchen roll to dry,
A profesional jeweller can lightly buff any scuffs that have accrued if you want it as new, and shouldnt charge too much,

Jewellers. I had to take mine to tiffany and it's a three week job for the platinum and diamond.
And we lived happily ever after!

I use gin on all my white gold jewellery!! Some say its a waste of alcohol but it works a treat :) xx

Sonic cleaners are supposed to be great and only cost about £20. I don't have one yet though so can't comment.
I have 3 main ways of cleaning my ring:
1) For a deep clean, I put washing up liquid in an egg-up or shot glass and pop my ring in, and leave for several hours, before gently scrubbing with a baby toothbrush
2) Put gin in a shot glass to leave to soak for a while, before rinsing
