Hi everyone, I know a few people on here are planning on making there own clay cake toppers, So i thought id upload pics of my groom so far, I have had one go at the body and wasnt happy with it so did a new one and iv now added the head face and hair so still need to do the arms and hands. This is the first time i have used clay since i was a kid. I know the face looks a bit monkey like lol but i think once i have sanded and painted it, It will look different. I plan on making me next and im going to try and do my exact dress so i wont be able to show h2b it until the day! So will need all your opinions once i have made it.

i like him very cute ! i made my exact dress too but as h2b chose my dress with me (nobody else was interested) he has seen the figure. dont get me wrong he hasnt actually seen me in the real thing that will wait ! i recommend everyone has a go at making them even if they think they cant i defo thought i would be rubbish being about as crafty as a paper bag and although mine dont look as professional as yours i reckon any home made items makes for a great talking point and of course are always truly personal!.

One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!

i have fimo models too mrs deaton although i made them lol i love them and are suprisingly close to what me n h2b look llike but deffo shows our humour! they are baked now tough as rock already to be put into a special box i have bought to keep forever :) i love home made (prob because im poor lol) our wedding is defo about us no-one can doubt that every effort is made to make it personal but i also understand why some people prefer to pay to have things perfect its all a matter of taste really but £200! seems way over the top for cake toppers? will you put pics on when you get them? just cuz im nosy and want to see what that sort of money gets you! xx

Of course I will put pics up when I order them and I want to buy a keepsake box to keep them perfect safe dust free moisture free too If I could make them myself I would but I have some perfectionist tendencies ad they tend to drive me up the wall so I have to stick too professionals even if it costs me £200 =D <3 X

Thanks ladies, I got 2 more pics of the body when i first started, I know quite a lot of ladies will buy them from a pro, but i just wanted to upload the pics as when i was looking for steps on how to make one i couldnt really find any useful pics and they may come in handy for someone looking to try there own. Mrsdeaton I know what you mean as well i was going to diy my invites but think i will leave them to a pro as its the sort of thing i will want perfect. Laura, i love diy things so much to, Its only cost me like £3 so far lol .
