we want to get married in church that is not in our parish. Is this possible?

You normally need some connection with the church if you dont live in the parish - ie you regularly worship there, your parents were married there, you were christened there, I think xx

We are marrying in a church that isn't our parish. We had to go to one church service a month for 6 months to establish a connection with the church x

we are too... we managed to because h2bs mum and dad got married in the church so that's our link with it other things they wanted instead if they wasn't married there was that was one of us to of lived in the parish for 6 months or something....usually its some kind of link with the church, but I think now it depends on the vicar, they aren't as strict... cant imagine them saying no, seems a bit mean!! xx

We are marrying outside our parish, they ask you for a qualifying connection
6 A person has a Qualifying Connection with a parish if: • that person: o was baptised in the parish. (This does not apply where the baptism formed part of a combined service of baptism or confirmation); or o had his or her confirmation entered in a church register book of a church or chapel in the parish; or o has at any time had his or her usual place of residence in the parish for at least 6 months; or o has at any time habitually attended public worship in the parish for at least 6 months; or • a Parent of that person has at any time during that person’s lifetime: o had his or her usual place of residence in the parish for at least 6 months; or o habitually attended public worship in the parish for at least 6 months; or • a Parent or Grandparent of that person was married in the parish.
