I am getting married in Jan and having a 'winter warmer' theme if you can call it that, the venue is keeping up all the christmas decs for us. You could go one way or the other really, like most have said you can go for classic reds and greens and golds or you could go winter wonderland with snow flakes and crystals and snow!
Sounds really basic but our florist is including red berries in all our flower to follow through with the theme all these little things can look amazing. Also bare in mind the light in winter isn't great and goes dark at 4ish so make the most of candles and lanterns, realistically in the summer no one would really see them but in the winter you can make a real feature of them! Go luck!

Xmas decorations sell just before/after Xmas for peanuts. Why not buy minature Xmas trees as centrepieces I am sure you could pick them up for next to nothing. Or what about a christingle style centrepiece witg oranges.

You could name your tables after 12 days of Xmas.

You may find the venue will have Christmas decorations already up which may help your Christmas theme. Also we are having a Christmas wedding package which gives all christmasy food and mulled wine etc.

Red is a really nice winter color and adds warmth to the cold! x

I love the idea with blue and silver with snowflakes but I feel that it might look too cold, so saw a pic with a gold colouring to it and looks nice and warm.

Ruth, I wanted a winter wedding, but hubby really wanted summer so we went with summer,
BUT......I had it all planned out..
I was doing a Lion Witch & Wardrobe theme......
The entrance would have fur coats hung up, there would be snow and ice sculptures....(maybe plastic) and the centrepieces would be street light lanterns, with bowls of turkish delight.......
I would arrive on a horse drawn carriage of some sort....

I was quite sad not to have a winter wedding actually, especially as I wanted to wear a fur , full length coat over my dress.......

I even found these for the invitations......

You could add Candy Canes onto place cards or favours or even wrap them around a plain vase filled with flowers.

Fill fish bowls with babules or add them around glasses.

Make little elves to dot around the place.

Get a couple of piles of logs stacked up and sprinkle fake snow over them.

Add fake snow to the tables.

Oh you could even use it for your confetti that would look nice in photos.

    The ideas are endless!
