Kids are on school break for 2 weeks. Work is really busy but I don't mind as making lots of tips and we can wear Xmas t-shirts and reindeer antlers instead of uniform so all good :)

Finally feel like we are getting on top of things for Christmas, went shopping with OH on Saturday and sorted most of the presents for the fam. Need to get one or two more little bits, including for my sister's fiance and my dad which I'm struggling with a bit.
I ordered some things for OH from the official Moomin giftshop (he loved it when he was young) and his items are getting delivered from Finland, finding it hard to understand the delivery tracking service though! Bit worried until that one shows up!
Tomorrow I plan to finish the decorations and last minute Christmas cards, then some time in the kitchen to make some fudge and white choc pretzel bites. Uni work is officially finished now so looking forward to getting some of the house/my notes sorted too :)

My mom bought a m1n1 r0ll5 cracker just for the house as they were on offer so I said that OH would love it so just have that to wrap for him. Ran out of paper though so will have to use Moms
Mom said on Friday night that we are doing silly presents again. Everyone buys 5 presents maximum a £ each and either have to be really stupid or fantastic. Got a pair of leather gloves one year. So Went out on Saturday with OH and got our 10 which finished off my paper. Is good fun though :)

I love Christmas but just doesn't seem to have the same excitement anymore. I think it's because our families are relatively small and we have to see them in "groups" rather than as a whole, it makes it a bit less exciting.

I much prefer seeing family in groups rather than all at once, I think it kind of drags Christmas out longer and means you get to catch up with people better rather than not being able to speak to everybody.

I find it a bit boring lol. We always have lunch with my mum and grandparents, and whilst I love spending time with them, my god it is boring!!! Especially for the "main event" of the day. Need some kids running around getting excited or something.
I prefer Christmas Eve to Christmas day, feels more exciting and I love going to my dad's in the evening. I love the build up to Christmas, but Christmas day itself always feels like a bit of an anti-climax for me.

There are no kids in my family so that's not something I'm used to haha, there are a few in OH's family but we don't see them over Christmas. I have to admit sitting in my nans on boxing day does get boring but it's a tradition so I do enjoy it haha!
I do like Christmas Eve, OH is usually working but he is off this year so we have planned to watch Christmas films and either go out for dinner or get a takeaway! Can't wait!

Sounds lush. My dad always puts on a bit of a buffet and it just feels so lovely. Hopefully my step brother, his partner, her son and their baby daughter will be coming this year as well - will feel even better with the kiddies around!
Can't wait to start our own little family and get excited for Santa with them etc. Once we have kids and a house big enough I want Christmas day at our house. And if people want to see us, they can come to us instead of us having to travel around everywhere!!!
I am looking forward to Boxing day evening. We are going to MIL's for a buffet and drink... apparently she wants us to play drinking games, so that should be interesting! Lol.

I find Christmas with OHs family boring. the all open presents all at the same time, have dinner then watch TV. At ours we open them one at a time so can see what each other is opening and then have dinner and play games and party. We don't touch the TV all day. Wont have to worry about that this year though as I'm not welcome there haha!
I love Christmas eve prepping all the food. making cookies, going to midnight mass then back to the pub for a party. It is great. I'm like a kid. I never sleep much Christmas eve.. too excited! Then wake up at stupid times Christmas day. I get told off if I wake everyone up so I lie in bed singing Christmas songs :)
