i have mine down out of the loft ( yes yes i know i shouldn't have done it ) but it cant go up till next weekend .. i always did it after my sons birthday so the two would be separate events and i still do it even though he is 30 !!!!!
Hubby needs to get the decs from the loft tomorrow evening. He has the step ladder at work so needs to bring that back home, then I shall do the tree on Tuesday before work.
Our tree will go up tomorrow too as long as I can get lights for it.

Changed plan, lights will be delivered Wednesday as cannot be doing with traipsing around the shops looking for lights. I'll do the crib and other decs tomorrow and get the tree up, think it's fiddly, then I can decorate the tree as soon as the lights are delivered.
I may also make a start on wrapping too as done quite a bit of the presents shopping already.

Yay how exciting! It's my works Christmas party on Friday night then on Saturday I will get the Christmas tree up whilst watching a Christmas film - can't wait!! I love Christmas.
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
Our party is not until the 19th. It's a brilliant laugh.
Tree will be going up tonight. Cannot wait either. Put a bit of Buble on whilst decorating it as well.

I hate wrapping, and I have so much to do that I have to do it in sittings. Done two sittings so far. Might do another one today actually, got more parcels on the way though so might wait for those to turn up.

I have loads to wrap already, probably around 30 items already that need wrapping and still more to buy, not masses though as most presents sorted, just hubby my mum and dad really left to get and then maybe a few extra stocking fillers type presents for my sister. Everyone else is done.

I'll do your wrapping GF! I love it, I find it really therapeutic. Can't beat doing it whilst the Christmas tree lights are on with Christmas music playing in the background. Love making the pressies all pretty with bows and ribbons too.

I normally do it in my room as that is where everything is hid, means I have to lug it all downstairs to wrap, then back upstairs again. Easier to just sit on the bed,

I love it 2. I do it in 2 stages, I do a simple wrap with gift tag then a week before Christmas I will add bows and make them pretty to put under the tree. If I'm late with it (like this year) I will do it all in one go.
My wrapping paper this year is really really glittery so will be a nightmare to get it all up :)

What are everyone's plans for Christmas this year?
Christmas for us is normally a bit of a nightmare as we have 4 lots of parents between us, so it's hard trying to make time for them all whilst trying not to offend anyone etc etc.... We always go to my dad's on xmas eve with my step brother and his family and have a takeaway/nibbles, play games etc which is always really lovely. Christmas morning we will see OH's dad then we're going to my mum's for Christmas dinner where my grandparents will be as well. We would normally then go to OH's mum's in the evening, but this year she has said we don't have to if we don't want to as she appreciates we have a lot of moving around to do, so I think we're going to see her Boxing Day instead. Will be nice to be able to drink at mum's and just relax knowing we don't have to be anywhere else or rush off at any time. We live a 2 min walk away from her so we can just stagger home at whatever time we want :)

Wow that's a busy Christmas Floss!
Last 2 years we've hosted so this year we're going to my parents which will be nice, take some of the work off me, I'll be in charge of all sweet treats desserts though and maybe make the starter. No getting up early though to pop the turkey in the oven or prepping all the veg the day before.
Boxing day we always see SIL as it's her birthday, this year it's afternoon tea at Th3 5h@rd I think. We normally just go visit them and have bubble and squeak. Guessing though she doesn't want to host this year as she's pregnant again and baby is due in February. I'm rather looking forward to it.
Won't be seeing FIL Christmas Day this year as at my parents but will see him boxing day. He can go spend it with his girlfriends family seeing as she's been round to ours 2 years running. Hubby isn't really very close to his dad so wasn't really bothered about whether or not he sees him.

Flossie ours is similar to yours but just circulating 2 houses rather than 4
Christmas eve with my family for a pre Christmas party then to midnight mass and to OHs house to sleep. Christmas morning wake up in his house then go to the cemetery then back to his and his 2 grandparents will be there then. Afternoon just before lunch go to my house and spend the rest of the day with my family including my aunt and uncle. Then boxing morning back to OHs house for all the family coming over early afternoon.
When you put it like that it sounds really tiring!
At some point we also meet up with both sides of my extended family. OH is from a small family so doesn't really have one other than the people on boxing day

Our Christmas is usually quite quiet but I love it, OH normally works Christmas Eve night so isn't home until 8am Christmas day, we think he will be off this year but anyway, we spend Christmas morning just the two of us opening presents, we cook our own dinner too, MIL comes round at about 12 on her way to her partner's mums then we have a relax until my dad comes to pick me up to take me to my parents house where my nan and grandad pop round for xmas buffet tea! OH then has a nap and follows on his way to work as he works 5 minutes from my parents house, then I say there until later on. Thinking about staying this year though as I always go to my other nan and grandad's with them on boxing day so there's no point them dropping me home at about 11 for them to pick me up again at 9am! Quiet and relaxing Christmas but it's always lovely and cosy :)

Hmmm just opened box, no instructions for putting our new tree together! How hard can it be? This will be interesting. My other one I had in my small flat was just 3 foot so pulled it out of the box, pushed the branches down added lights and fairy and it was ready, decs were already attached to it. This is different, loads of bits to put together.

I think we're just going to put some white led lights in our front room and bedroom window this year as the tree will take up too much space if we ever get any viewings!

We have Christmas Eve at home, just me and OH and we have cheese and biscuits and wine. Christmas morning at home opening presents and then to my mums for lunch. Boxing day down to my dads near Peterborough for lunch and then in the evening we travel to OH parents (they're about an hour away from my dad) and will stay there for 3 nights before coming home and having the remainder of our time off together, just the two of us.
Sounds like you all have lovely Christmases too. It's just so exciting :)
