Well took my mum and MOH to a wedding fair today and between us we picked the colour theme! Sooo excited. We're having black and cream (very 'me') with a little pink (to add abit of brightness). So i'm thinking of having my bridesmaids in black dresses with pink shoes and bouquets of white roses. I'm dead excited as now we've picked it, i can imagine how everything is going to look.
The only downside of going to the wedding fair though is my budget of 10k has just gone out the window! Anybody else had this problem?

Yes! It's far too easy to get overexcited at wedding fairs and want everything you see! Once you calm down a bit you'll start to not want all those things quite so much!
I have a really tight budget and was disheartened at first, but now I see it as a challenge!

yeah but i used weddding fairs as ideas then did the research and looked around and saved a lot by getting the things at the wedding fair somewhere else :) x x

Ha Ha!! I Was ata wedding fair today and well i have most of my ideas i was just looking to see what i still needed ideas for!
I was a bit annoyed at a lady though as she spoke to us and then when there was another couple behind us she got up and offered cake. we werent offered at all!!!

Yeah that's true i'll have forgotten in a few days how much i liked all those things and so won't want them so much. We're going to do so much of it ourselves. We're making sweet trees and stuff. They're so simple!! I'm even considering having them as my centrepieces, 2 birds with 1 stone kinda thing!

my budget at the start was 35k then it was 25k then 21k then 26k the 18k then 14k then 10k now settled on 12k. pretty things will get you all hyped up but ul soon see what u really need and want and what u can find cheaper. xx

yeah also just look on internet for more ideas and i noticed the e of bay was great for things! i also made things that i saw at the fairs, myself lol

Christ Zoe your budget has changed so many times haha! But yeah everyone keeps telling me not to bankrupt us for one fabulous day. It's easy to get carried away with it all!
Will be making most of the stuff ourselves to be honest. My mum just did us the most beautiful save the dates which, by pure coincidence, match our colour scheme exactly!
I just wanna get doing it all now! haha

hahaha yeah well his in libya at the moment so his like i want to wear my uniformaand show off the medals haha!
so we have royal blue, white, silver and the odd touch of black :)

Yeah that's a good point. It's all excitement while planning it but i'm not looking forward to when it's all done and finished.

yeah well i have made the flowers for me and the 6 bridesmaids myself :) hehe! i made a lot of things because then you can make it to your own colour scheme.
i also have the Navy theme going through (with ships names as table names) and getting married in the dockyard church and having the recepetion in the Maritime club hotel :) but then i also have butterflys in the invites, the favour boxes, the cake even butterflys and even butterfly confetti haha! as jay was like he dont want it to be all about navy he wanted something in the wedding that i loved and i love butterflys haha! :) x

Yeah that's nice of him to want you to incorporate something else in. And butterflies will add a feminine touch :)

I think we're having all fresh flowers but will be making everything else ourselves. Sweet trees, jars, favours etc. I think it's nice to make them too because it's adding to the experience! I'm really looking forward to me, my mum and bridesmaids all doing things together. Much more memorable than throwing money at it!

yeah defo get them in to help! i have one bridesmaid making the cake as she works in a cake shop :) have another filming the day as she is doing her masters in documentry filming :) so use their talents too to help you! and help you stay in the budget :) x

Yeah definitely!! H2B's sister is opening a cake shop so she instantly offered to do the cake (hell yes!) and MOH is a hairdresser so that's covered too. And my aunty is a fabulous seemstress so doing chair bows and possibly even dresses if i don't see anything i like. A close friend has a brand new sports car (that's H2B's transport sorted haha) and my mum is one of those ppl who can do everything. I intend to use everyones talents / assets! haha.

hahaha yeah i saw a thing online about filming your own day then you sedn the videocameras back and they edit it but i cant remmeber what its called. goggle it and see if you can find it? might be cheaper then getting an actual person to film it? x
