Seriously I genuinely think I might go mad! I just listen to hundreds of MP3s of covers of songs and never come anywhere closer to making a decision!
We want a Soul band that does a bit of Soul/Motown and some Ray Charles/Otis Redding (as they are h2bs current obsession!) and some stuff that will get people dancing but no matter how much I listen and read testimonials I just get this horrible feeling that they will turn up on the day and be horrendous! Does anyone have any recommendations of really good bands that had everyone dancing in the Essex/London area (or that travel to that area)?
HELP!!! before i MP3 myself to death! xx

sorry dont live in that area (yet) but will do after wedding. do you have any friends that you can ask that have been to weddings or events? i found my DJ through recommendations of friends/family and my photographer recommended him too. ask your venue and suppliers too for any recommendations - i have found this so useful x

where you moving to essex or london? I am literally the first of all my friends to get married so i haven't been to a wedding since i was a kid. My cousins wedding which I couldn't go to apparently had a good band but my h2b wasn't keen on them when he saw the website...also my cousin divorced his wife after 8 months so I am not sure if it would go down well having the same band?! and everyone our suppliers has recommended has been a bit too 'pop' for h2b. fuss pot! ughh its so hard trying to decide especially as most of them you can't actually see them in real life! xx

moving to essex after the wedding - H2B is based at carver barracks in saffron walden so we will move into married quarters about 2 weeks before wedding i think. hmmm its a tricky one - but looks like you have a bit of time to decide so you dont have to rush into it - i would go and ask your venue for recommended suppliers or other venues in the area (you dont have to tell them that you are having your wedding somewhere else lol) failing that, trawl the internet, get on google and some more forums and keep fingers crossed. if you pick one you can always ask them to pencil you in and pay a deposit nearer the time - most people will do this and let you know if anyone enquires about your date. then if your not sure you always have time to change your mind. our DJ actually does regular motown nights which is where we found his card when a few family members recommended him - always good to look around for any of them and contact them that way. unfortunately we are telford/shropshire based so its a bit far for you xx
