I've found puzzle books on the bay of e called 'something to keep you happy when the grown ups are being really boring at the dinner table' they are a wedding version too. They are 5.90 each and all i'm doing is putting a packet of coloured pencils with them. I was going to go with the sweets, chocs too but then i thought of all those sticky fingers and thought noooooooo LOL xx

We only really have boys that are kids so we're getting a few packs of match attacks (think that's what they're called) so they can play each other and swap them. We've also told them to bring their DS' and we'e hunting ebay and games shops for cheap DS games which we will either give to the boys if they don't argue or give them to Charity.
CommentAuthorlemlau
i have a saved seller on e bay and she does chalk boards in all sizes so think i might buy them all a mini chalk board and chalks and that way they can draw all day long and have something to keep.

I got some tiaras and wands from asda and I think they were about 50p for 4. I also got other little bits and bobs 50p for 4 and then I got the crayons for 20p I think. We are taking the smart price label out of the packs and inserting a printed paper with our names and wedding date and also the child's name to make them more special. I also got a pack of glow sticks for the evening. All in all I think I spent about £15 on 17 kids.

We've got kids of very different ages, we'll have a 1yo a 3 1/2yo a 11yo and a 13yo so haven't really got a clue where to start, think maybe stick with the same favours as the adults for the older ones, some chocolate buttons or something for the 1yo (and a pressie for when she's a bit older as she is a flower girl) and something to keep the 3 1/2yo busy becuase is is a little mentalist!!! lol
CommentAuthor*Layls*

I bought my flower girls bracelets with their names on in my colours which are handmade and cost £3 & a personalised teddy saying 'Thank you for being our flower girl' on the front and 'Louise and Sam - 11.11.11' on the back. For the boys I have bought personalised dog tags. I am also going to put a small colouring book and crayons where are the children will be sitting. I'm not going overboard, just getting them something small each.
CommentAuthorNetta
Have just been looking on a couple of wedding supplier sites and they do these bags that have chalk board sides. Which put me in mind of giving my lot chalk boards, you can even get them from poundland and places of the like.
CommentAuthorrainykins
If mostly girls check out the local supermarkets for their party bag fillers (little wands, bracelets etc) there is plenty of choice out there for you to to do small part bag favours without it breaking the bank We have a mixed range of girls and boys but we decided for all our over 5's they would recieve cartoon trivia boxes to keep them amused and for them to play against each other (may put a bowl of sweets in our other room for them to have quizzes etc against each other) and teddies for our under 5's
CommentAuthorlemlau
just been in ikea and bought two packs of 10 finger puppets. put few in each bag and should keep kids (and adults) amused!

friendship bracelets are nice quiet entertainment that require little supervision. A quick e-search should provide a knotting example or two, and print that off, whack it in a pretty bag with a few strands of embroidery thread in your wedding colours and some pretty little corresponding beads from a cheap shop. Add a small saftey pin so they can attatch the top to your tablecloth [the venue shouldnt even notice] and bobs-ya-uncle, happy entertained small girls, who get somthing to take home at the end. Wheay favours sorted too :] <3 xx

Just a thought on this....we are going to do little goodie bags for the kids as well, but my mum pointed out to be careful if you're putting in pens or wax crayons etc as you don't want any accidents with the table cloths getting ruined and having to pay for any damage!!!!
CommentAuthorkellyc13
ive made my own bags for the kids (pic in profile) and they all have a car, duck, or teddy favour on the table. in the bags im putting pencils (not pens!) colouring book, thankyou gift, glow sticks, small toy, puzzle, fruit shoot, bag of sweets, sticker, and whatever else i can find between now and then x
so little time, so much to do!
CommentAuthorlemlau
good point but kids stuff like that are normally washable.
Just another thought aswell though if you are putting in colouring in pencils remember a sharpner as they breal easily hence the reason i'm going for crayons as they are still usable even if broken.
Pri mark have tubs of glitter pens, normal pens and pencils at the moment for £1.50

I've just finished my bags so here's whats in them.
Girls - personalised jute bag/thank you card/bridesmaid book/lip gloss/thorntons sweets/personalised teddy/purse/keyring+photo frame/camera boys Personalised jute bag/thank you card/pageboy keepsake/yo yo/finger puppets/thornton sweets/personalised teddy/extra large playing cards/photo frame/camera
Those are the thank you bags that will be handed out during speeches.
I have also made my own activity pack - just googled it and amended the ones that I downloaded - printed on special card and stringed together with pencil tin/colours, I have managed to personalise them for all ages, these will be on the table when they sit down. I also brought the bridesmaid an angel pin to watch over them during the day x

CommentAuthorXLittleMissMe!X
Too be honest if you are giving them the kids I would go on ebay and look for them cheap tiny digital cameras you can get for a couple of quid rather than the disposable cameras because then they can be used again/resold once the photos have been downloaded where as the disposable ones work out rather expensive to not only buy but also have printed.
CommentAuthorlemlau
jo just looked for them? what do i type in the search bar?
