Hey there are lots of kids under the age of 10 coming to our wedding, around 15 or so...
I was wondering if anybody had made their own gift packs for kids?
We where going to have a sweet cart but a lot of friends have had them and have told me theyve always taken loads of sweets home with them.
I'd love some ideas and inspiration for gift packs for them. The age ranges between 5months up until 11 years old.
    :-)
    Thank you.

We have quite a few children too, we have 9 under 5's and 7 between 5 and 12 so we have done them all an activity pack containing colouring book and crayons, small toys, bubbles which will be on the table for the wedding breakfast and then we have purchased some outdoor games and balls to be placed outside. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough. We have a sweetie table too.

We dont have an outdoor space, I was considering a games room but I dont want to seperate everybody and have people wandering between rooms.

What kind of toys do you have for the 12 year olds?

To be honest, the 12 year olds are just getting the same favour boxes as the adults and they are probably too old for the kids packs and are more likely to sit through the meal without getting bored. If you want to get them something, how about puzzle books rather than colouring books. Crosswords and word searches etc?

I am making activity packs for my kiddies.

I have made them a booklet with puzzles in them and colouring in pictures. I found pictures online and put them into a document and printed it off. they don't have to all be wedding related (my maze was a normal maze with the cropped heads off the colour the bride and groom at the start and finish)

    Includes:
    - a maze - help the groom find the bride
    - Colour the brides flowers
    - wordsearch with wedding words in it
    - colour in the bride and groom
    - decorate the wedding cake
    - a dot to dot of 2 love birds. birds is our theme.
    - a Os and Xs sheet so they can play a game (not wedding related but good fun)

Will include crayons, a little toy, some sweets (they will be in our favour boxes but will have little fun size packs of bu770n5 and things like that), bubbles (if venue allows). I will put it in a little gift bag so they have that as their favour.

I like the idea of puzzles, this may be more up their street than colouring.
What are your thoughts on giving them a disposable camera?

I considered that but then decided against it. There are limited photos on them and kids will just take loads at once because that's what they are used to with digital cameras.

I do like the idea of an I spy of pictures for them to get.

I'm doing practically the same as the other ladies. A bag with goodies in!

So far I have ten bags for the little ones. (Birth to 5)
    inside:
    Pl@d0h
    Stackable crayons
    Homemade colouring sheet
    Bubbles
    H@rib0 pack
    and a kaleidoscope

    (6-11)
    Pl@yd0h
    Stackable crayons
    Bubbles
    H@rib0

(So now im swayed towards the Ispy thing after your suggestion with a disposable camera)

    I think thats all.

I saw an idea somewhere of iSpy, I think that's what I'm going to do but more for everyone as an ice breaker as the kids we have coming are mostly under 5 or teens. I've just signed up to W2d P1cs so it will hopefully give us even more photos!

Nothing set in stone but I have a plan for a goodie pack which is quite similar:
    For the young ones:

    Pl@yd0h
    Bubbles
    Disposable Camera
    Sweets
    Ribbon wand
    Activity Book

    For the older ones:

Scavenger Hunt Book (going to hide some little boxes with little prizes and put clues in it for the reception)
    Little pack of l3go
    Disposable Camera
    Sweets
Guest Who (One person on your table has a lizard for a pet, one person has a doctorate, etc, have to work them out)

Some of our older kids are on the verge of not needing a kids pot and don't want to patronise them but also don't want to leave them out, so BM had the idea to include a poem acknowledging the fact:

We know you might be just too old
    to enjoy a children's pot
    But there's naught to do
    Till the groom is through
with the last speech of the lot.
So we've put together a few fun bits
and popped them in this bag,
Why don't you take some pics
    & mess about with bricks
So that the time doesn't drag!

(neither of us are particularly talented poets, this is the best we could do for now)

I decided to go for the disposable cameras not really for the pictures at all but just for something for the kids to do

We put colouring pencils and pictures to colour in at each child's seat at the reception. We also gave them bubbles as favours, instead of the homemade CDs that the adults had.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I've heard of people doing a camera for older ones and a list of things to take a photo of like the biggest hat or the grooms buttonhole. Some may have phones or can use parents phones so they could use those and then you could get the best man or MOH to judge and give a prize to the best one. X

I bought my Niece loads of colouring books, crayons and stuff to keep her occupied. On the day she was actually more interested in the balloons on the table than anything else!

    I like the idea Kirsty.
I'm just printing up a list of things to snap but I think i'll get disposables so they can have their own pictures printed to keep.

Half the people who have RSVP already have only just told us they're bringing the kids (Though they werent on the RSVP). So now the numbers gone from 15- 26. :/

The kids were not on the invite but I did specifically write- if you want to bring the kids please let us know. 'Im feeling very annoyed but I hate upsetting people so I'll just deal with it.

I have found a fantastic site for cheap party things to put in the packs. Let me know if you want it and will put it on your wall :)
