You could always hire a child minder & see if the venue will provide an extra room for the kids to go if they get squirrely. I've heard of people hiring bouncy castles, garden games, & things like that as well.

Activity bags during the meal, game table or giant outdoor games for the reception?

We're getting some activity packs for made, there's hundreds on the Bay of E, some of them are really lovely & very cheap too. We're also having giant outdoor games although that depends on the weather as we get married in March! To be fair, every wedding I've been to the kids were happy chasing the disco lights haha, but activity packs are good for the meal/speeches. xx

I was thinking I might find out a couple of games for indoors as well - some classics like connect 4 - that kind of thing as we've got a few children coming aswell. x
I'm doing favour bags on the tables with an activity pack, game to play, bubbles etc for the ones that are old enough. Then at the evenng they will just enjoy the disco x

We had a circus company called Juggletastic come and do a circus workshop at our wedding, they took the kids off our hands for 4 hours and it was fantastic, after we found out they specialise in fire shows but it was too late to book, :( maybe for our anniversary

There parents will entertain them and bring things for them to do surely? We have 21 kids coming so most will play together and got plenty of grass to run around on but for dinner I have got them all personalised colouring books and putting a pack of UNO cards on every table xxx

I was thinking of getting some large cheap pillows and having them in a corner for the kids to sit on while doing colouring/playing in a little snug area. We're lucky to have a garden area all to ourselves, so some cheap flyaway footballs, foam tennis sized balls and bubble machine for outside. Activity books for during the speeches and boring adult moments are my best ideas at the moment.

The "every little helps" supermarket usually has garden games reasonably priced

Only having 3 kids so just getting activity bags made for them, will be a sweet buffet for them too.

Im providing board games (im going to look in charity shops as i know for a fact things will go missing/get broke) Im not sure about colouring books as Im concerned about things being drawn on that shouldnt be, though pencil crayons may be a safe idea...
Also thinking about lego. But maybe the bigger blocks rather than smaller as there will be bits turning up for weeks afterwards haha
theres loads of party items in tesc0 so i might get a few cheap bits and bats from there as well

Ahh... Velcro - you can get 'magic' colouring books, where they use water pens and the paper colour changes magically! ;-)
The as thing we need is little Tom drawing on his baby sisters face/dress or the walls, his shirt etc!!
