I don't want to spend a lot on my wedding dress as it's only for one day and the most important thing for me is marrying my fiance not what I'm wearing - but I'm always worried if I buy a cheap dress online that it'll be bad quality. I've looked around and dresses seem to be £200+ at the least.
Does anyone know where to buy a cheaper dress? It doesn't have to necessarily be a wedding dress but I'd like a full length white/ivory dress.
Only just started properly planning so VERY new to this. Would be great to get some advice from those already married or brides-to-be!
Thank you so much in advance!

I know of one but don't know about the quality - some people have left them bad reviews while other have left them good reviews but is up to you whether or not you want to chance it.

Have you tried looking at the sale items in bridal shops? You could maybe look at prom dresses in shops like debs and fraiser.

Yeah they are another two to look out like HB said. I got some great wedding shoes from them the other day for bargain prices. One pair was £13.30 instead of £45!

That's what I am going to do ;) There should be an option on your profile to make it 'public'. There should be three options - you only; friends only or public I think.

If you go to your profile and go on 'My details'; right at the bottom you have a drop down menu with the three options. I just checked ;)

I'm a bit worried about using eBay as my fiance bought a coat from there and the quality was terrible :( but will have a look on the big tree of gum never thought to look for a dress on there. The only second hand shops we have around my area never have any wedding related items but I'm keeping my eyes peeled! x

Look at the feed back in particular on the bay of e - if the seller has 98% or above positive then it is likely that if you buy a dress of them that it will be ok. Tree of Gum also have some lovely ones though I don't know where you live so may be different for you :)

Have a look at some white bridesmaid dresses. I've seen loads that look like wedding dresses but because they're not officially a wedding dress, they're a lot cheaper :)

I would look into sales/outlets for the high street stores that do bridal lines like M0ns00n, D3benhams, BH$, etc. TK M@x also do wedding dresses on there website. I've seen £1,000 dresses for under £100 on there before.
Some great bargains can be had at bridal shop sample sales especially if you're willing to haggle.

Also have a look round the weddings fairs and when the bridal shops have sales. They often sell off the samples from the stores very cheap at the fairs etc.

one of the girls at work suggested I look on charity shop websites - Had a quick peek and there are some nice ones - some not so, but if you get something quite plain you could jazz it up.

When I was little I always used to want my mum to make my wedding dress, I used to love looking at the pattern books in the fabric shops!

yeah,i'm agree with you, so i ordered a "cheap" dress from internet. it's a lace, white, floor length dress. the website provide custom made service, the dress is tailored according to my own measurement and it fits me well. it's not a luxury dress but it is really worth the price.

I'd be carefull buying the dress online. Now it's the time of sales. Go and look for a cheaper dress on sale. Will be safer than buying online ;)
