right ladies who is on a majorly strict budget?! We are having to put off our wedding because of finances, but to be honest if there is any way we could do it for under 1k, outfits included I want to just get on and do it. We have been engaged since June 2001!!!!!
Including fees, I would like to know how to do it!!! I am not bothered about a sit down meal, or a party but I would like family (at least some of them lol) and some friends to be there.
I have some things already, but the big things like a dress (sorry budget or not I want a dress lol) I would like to know how you can get them under £100!?!
HELP lol

how about trying charity shops? I was in one the other day and they had a really pretty wedding dress in there for £40, there was an original price tag on it of £470. So yeh charity shops for dresses. high street stores for cake. ask local places for venue, pubs, community centres, restaurants etc.
So lucky to be marrying my soulmate on 18/07/20

Registry office before 12pm is only £40 for the service rather than over £200 for after 12pm.. Wedding bands from A.gros are cheap.. Bay of e for dresses and accessories Don't suit and boot a bunch of guys, just the groom - Mata.lan sell cheap but nice suits (and mourning suits too) Invite through text, emails and FB, create a free wedding website for people to RSVP Make your own cake ? Oooor me and H2B were saying the other day about buying a few of those 'Feed 40' cakes from the green supermarket ! Can feed 120 people for £30 :-) He said no, but if you're on that tight of a budget they are really good cakes !

3bay for wedding dresses. they have some 2nd hand ones but also lots of china made ones on there for under £100. If you don't specifically want a 'wedding dress' then they have white maxi dresses on there for around £10.
buy a cake from a supermarket, either get one of the decorated ones or buy a plain sponge and decorate it yourself?
go to a restaurant for the meal. if you do what georgi said and get married before 12, then lots of restaurants have 'early bird' deals 3 courses for £9.99 each or something kinda thing. (you could even be cheeky and ask guests to pay for themselves)
you could even have a mini reception at your house afterwards, if the weather is nice a bbq... the big green super market sell big packs of sausages and burgers from £2. or a buffet spread... they do big packs of sausage rolls/cocktail sausages/crisps from £1 xx

ooohhh these are brilliant ideas thank you!!! I am not keen on a used dress, but at this point the thought isn't as unappealing as it used to be lol
going to put this idea forward to the Mr. see what he thinks lol I just 1. don't want to be an older bride when I got engaged when I was in my teens and 2. we know we want to be together forever and we want to be married (to me even though we have children, is the ultimate commitment)

Depending on when you are thinking of getting married, you could hold a garden party as your reception at your home/someone's home and get the guests to bring something (food/bottles).
I got my dress from a charity shop for £50, my MOH dress on the bay for £13 (would have been £120 from bh$) my BMs dresses from Am@zon for £9.99 each. I made their bouquets with foam flowers from Dun3lm mill at a cost of £4.99 each. We made our centrepieces - £30 for 5. Our friend made our cake for £100, however, we did contemplate getting 3 iced cakes of diff sizes from t3scos and would have cost around £60. We also made our own invites - pack of 50 folded plain cards from h0bbycr@ft, cut down the middle - made 50 invites postcard style and rsvps for £5.
Hope that gives you some ideas x (photos in my albums)
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a

1. I have made my post box using an old box we used to move house, you could ask at your local shop for an empty box. I have used sticky back plastic for £2 (I bought 2 rolls from £land) & I will be using a pretty hair band as decoration. 2. I have made my own flowers using £1 fake flowers (I got white ones then used permanent marker to colour them the colours i wanted) these have cost £10 (1 bouquet, 4 button holes & 2 single stems) 3. I have made my own centre pieces - 99p for each jar from the local less than £1 shop. i also used flowers from there too to put in the jars & have got water pearls from the bay for 99p a packet. 4. I have made my own invitations & OOS these have cost approx. £35 for 16 tissue pouches, 20 day invites, 20 OOS & 40 RSVP's, 140 approx inserts & 20 evening invites, however £land do invites i think 8-10 of them in a pack. they also have some nice favour bags (organza bags or cellophane bags) 5. My mate was clearing through all of her clothes the other week and has given me a wedding dress (its knee length, not been worn that she knows of - apparently her friend who works in a charity shop saw it in the shop and gave it to her as a going out outfit, but she wont wear it as its too big for her and so she gave it to me - still had the tag) 6. got hair accessories for BM's £5.98 for 2, & £4.50 for mine. 7. Saw a suit jacket & trousers on the bay for £38 - Hong Kong 8. Hold a "Bring a dish" in the local park? 9. Bubbles instead of confetti, makes nice photos & also can get 6bottles from £land. 10. buy a pack of CD's and ask guests to take them home & burn their photos onto the disk & send them to you. 11. use your local college for as much as possible, photographer, videographer, caterer, dj etc (maybe they could make your cake with plain white icing and you could stick some fake flowers on to decorate? 12. do your own hair & makeup, get BM's to step in too. 13. Maxi dresses bought for BM's - 2 of them for £14.96 inc postage 14. find your local masonic hall, mine is £160 for the entire building all day and 2 bar stewards (cheaper if your h2b would attend a few of the "meetings" (basically a load of guys that get together for a natter and beer lol) 15. have an early ceremony with just the 2 of you and your witnesses £40ish
if i think of anything else i will let you know. failing that see my wedding diary thread.
Find out who you are & do it on purpose!

Nicoleee_x I just noticed your wedding date is the same day as my sons birthday :) Silly thing to notice, but you have picked a good day, it hasn't rained once on his birthday so far and he is 6 (well it hasn't here anyway lol)
CommentAuthorMrs Ashman2b
I think you can do it, i don't think it will be easy but any diy stuff is so much nicer than the mass produced, i was reading a thread on here the other day and someone was talking about saving money by having a pot luck garden party where you ask people to bring a plate of food or a dish to be put on the table and everyone can dive in. A BBQ is also a way to feed the masses on a small budget you could ask people to bring the alcohol instead of gifts? O+fam and other charity shops will often get end of line stuff from designers so its worth looking there or the high street chains will often have big sales at the end of the wedding season so you could maybe get a bargin. As long as you and h2b are happy your guests will be happy for you.

put 2 links on your wall of where you can get a new wedding dress at around the £100 mark hope they help. My friend got her brides maids gowns from one so I can say they are reliable xx

you can get married under £1k. its less than £200 to get married and that's the only thing you HAVE to pay out as everything is else is just fancy extras.

Left a list on your profile of charity shops that have dresses, a lot of them are ex-sample or only worn in fashion shows & all of them are at a great price
CommentAuthorTotallyLovedUp
gothbride2b, I would still like some of the fancy extras, just at a much lower cost lol I don't want to get married and not celebrate it in some way with the people I love. The vows are everything to me, but like most women I do want a nice dress, flowers and a celebration of our vows too x
CommentAuthorMrsGothBride
you could make your own flowers? paper flower, buttons or brooch bouquets seem really in at the moment. The dress will be the most difficult but as mentioned above designer addresses can be real cheap second hand.
