    Hi all;
    We were thinking of donating some money to charity in the name of our wedding guests as extra favours to the wine glass charms but not sure how to go about it.

    We wanted to do a diabetes charity, a cancer charity and a Parkinson's charity as we have all lost someone to the diseases. H2b lost his dad to diabetes; I have lost quite a few people to various forms of cancer while my late granddad passed away in January this year from Parkinsons :(

    Go the the website of each one you want to do and they should have info on there for you! I know cancer research do them but not sure on the other two. I'll leave a link on your wall for the cancer one!

    You can do a donation for the cancer charities and you get the pin badges. That's what we're doing as my mum had breast cancer at 37 and oh's grandma died of breast cancer. You can use a search engine and put in cancer research favours and they come up :) xx

    Thank you ladies; I did that last night and found some; the Parkinson's one is a bit morbid though and the words are kind of sad so was worried if it might upset people, especially my mum.

    There will be a contact email address on their websites that you can email and they can point you out in the right direction. Try googling the charity name and wedding favour donation

    We are doing this for SHINE
    We had the cards printed with what we wanted on them though so you may be able to change the parkinsons ones to something not so upsetting?

    I ordered the cancer research ones online, it was so easy, simple, straight forward and user friendly. They sent the cards out really quickly too.

    Hope you get ones that are right for you and are the wording you want xxx

    we are doing ours for help for heroes as H2B is in army and buying the pin badges from their on line shop - they are £3 each but i know that cancer research do them for like £1 a badge and they print the cards for you. I am then going to print little cards off saying 'a donation has been made in your favour for the marriage of xxx'. as a little extra, i have spoken to Help for heroes and also alzheimers society as both our grandparents died from dementia and i have got some official donation boxes that we are going to put by the bar for spare change and donations. we have registered our wedding as an event and get an event reference so its all offical.

    lots of charities do this - its worth going to their website or giving them a call and see what they do x

    Our cancer research cards were £2 each and they sent us more than we ordered which was a good thing actually as we went over the number of guests we thought we were going to have.

    Becky the donation boxes sound like a lovely idea xxx

    Just thought I would bump this as it is something we are planning on doing - anyone else done this and have suggestions? I really like the pins cancer research make but I did want to use a different charity as although cancer has affected my family it has had a lot more publicity and donations recently due to the no make up selfies so am tying to find other charities who produce these?

    we are doing the charity pins but we are going to ask our guests in our invites RSVP's to tick their charity of choice or give them an other option if it is not listed and then get the pins according to their individual preference - that way everyone is happy (hopefully)!

    I didn't know SHINE did them too, definitely going to look into that. We have done sponsored hikes for them in the past :)

    We did this and we just made our own little folded cards that went next to their place card, just explaining what the charity meant to us, that we donated to them instead of favours and a little about what the charity does. Our charity wrote on their "wall of fame" online that we had donated in lieu of favours so we also wrote down the link to that incase anyone wanted to see! xx
