Hi we are wanting to do charity favours and are planning on getting some poppy pin badges for the men (we have already got cancer research ones for women) as we have both had people serving in the military and we have both lost family to cancer. However I have a predicament. British Legion do a plain poppy pin and one with the year on. And I can't decide which to get!

The plain one is something everyone can wear again but then the one with the year on will remind people of our wedding more.

We are getting married in June so it is well before people would normally get one so I am torn!

    What does anyone think? xx

I agree, the one with the year on makes it personal to your wedding. People may already have a plain pin badge but the one with the year seems more special xxx

Year on... if its generic they may not buy poppies each year.

(BTW... would they be producing the pin badges in June for that November?)

I just took a look at the poppy appeal shop because I was curious about the price of these and although there's no pic on the site yet, you can already order the 2011 dated pins

If you go to the fundraising section of the shop you can get them in sets of 50 for cheaper and then make up whatever as a donation if they were too much individually. Thats what we are going to do. Any we have left over I am also going to sell on at work and send the money to them.
