Not entirely sure whether I've put this in the right place, and apologies in advance for the lengthly preamble!
My H2B changed his name when he was 17 to get rid of the extra middle names his (no-good) father lumbered him with, and to change his name from Matthew to Matt, and his surname to match his mum's.
Obviously he needs to bring all the associated paperwork with him when we give notice, which isn't an issue - but he wants to change his name again - back to Matthew (more grown-up), and to get rid of the one remaining middle name (not entirely sure why he didn't do that at the time - probably youthful exuberance!)
We give notice in 8 days time - he won't be able to change his name before then, so will he be able to change his name between giving notice and the actual wedding day? (Leaving aside the question of passports as we still have plenty of time to get them renewed/updated.)
Ta for the helps!

Erm, not sure. Registrars were awkward enough with me for having changed my name when I was younger (had all the docs with me). Not sure ours would let us change before the wedding, without it invalidating the notice.... If you can postpone giving notice I'd try and change his name first!
Now Mrs Cobb!!!!!! :-D

I am not sure but I'd guess that changing his name after giving notice would invalidate it. Also the certificate of non-impediment would then be in his old name which may become a problem?! I'd do as Kaya suggested and get him to change it after the banns or maybe he could change it after the wedding?
