    hiya

Have any of you changed the date of the wedding after sending invitations. Well heres my predicament, we have planned our wedding for the 9th march next year and everything seems to be happening and we havent paid off half of the wedding off as we should have by now! we cant get a loan as that is not possible so we have to change the date of the wedding! the thing is we have sent invites out as there are alot of people having to travel over 200 miles, so thought we would send them early! what can we do and say to them? there is no way financially we can afford to get married on this date! any advice on how to tell people or any wonderful excuses instead of we cant afford it lol!

Are you cancelling it or changing the date? Either way people needed to be contact directly, I would try to call people just to make sure they all know the new date. There's no reason you can't get people to help you with this, and it'd be much cheaper to call then send things through the post.
No need for excuses, just don't go into much detail and say the date has been changed to XX.XX.XX.

Tell them as soon as possible they may have booked accommodation etc, just call them direct then send out the new date as confirmation

I agree, ring them up and let them know of the postponement.

However, if people have booked accommodation etc and can't get a refund or move the deposit, they might be a bit put out. That said, most people will be understanding.

You can also get 'notices of postponement' that you can send out if you don't fancy facing everyone's questions, just put something like 'due to circumstances beyond our control, our wedding has been postponed to xxxxxxx'

However, you could lose quite a bit of money on deposits etc with suppliers, so I'd make a real big effort to have it on the original day...could a family member perhaps loan you some of the money? Or maybe you ask to pay the venue after the wedding?msome venues will actually do this.

Hope you get it sorted Hun xx

Just say it's due to a "change in circumstances". You don't need to be specific. But defo tell everyone straight away. Use your parents and BM's to do some of the work as well. xx
