I'm trying to work out if we need the finishing touches package on our venue. It includes chair cover hire for 100 (usually £400). Is there anywhere or any ideas on how to do this cheaper?

my venue has nice looking chairs so im just having the bows to go around them and not the actual chair cover- just an idea to cut costs if your chairs look ok

I would shop around if I were you. Im getting 60 chair covers with sashes and butterflies, table clothers, rose petals for tables, the company completly set the venue up for me. Oh and swags for top table and cake table. All for approx £260.

I'm paying £200 for 80 chair covers and sashes .. i can post a link to anyones wall that would like it, they only do a 30 mile radius of their base but it might cover a few of you :) xx

awww thats gud i 4got to mention the chairs at my venue are red and my colour is caburys purple so wudnt look gud and the chairs need a special sized cover thats why i had to go to this company!

I need to find out if they decorate the venue to match our colour scheme. The £400 includes 10 extra people at the ceremony and wedding breakfast, upgrade from the standard honeymoon suite to luxury lodge, extra 30 guests for the evening buffet and 2 double rooms for guests....and the one I don't understand lol....10 people can join us for our first breakfast as a married couple

We're having spandex covers and they stretch to most chairs.. he showed me a book of all the chairs they stretch to and some of them are HUGE! :) xx

My venue dresser is costing me £500 but she is doing all my chair covers with sashes which is 120, favours for 120, a sweetie station and all the table swagging, crystals and runners for each table as well. It's a little bit expensive I guess but we made savings elsewhere to accomodate! I can't wait to see the room on the day. I'd say go for it hun it's one less thing you need to think about doing xx

talked about it with H2B last night, we're gonna stick with the finishing touches package, his grandma is complaining about having to find somewhere to stay and the travelling and getting a new outfit (half of his family are looking for excuses lol) so looking at shoving her in one of the complimentary rooms

i was originally going to have chair covers and sash's but when i went to the venue on sunday i got told they are £3.50 for each chair cover and sash plus VAT so would cost us £300. i can think of other things that money can go towards but h2b is adament that we need them. yes it will look better but it is a lot of money xx

Just booked mine @ £2.50 each inc sash and she will also put the sash on the chair covers the hotel provide for the ceremony room plus she will make up the rest of the chairs for the night time do so it all matches.x

I'm quite lucky that my venue move the chairs from the ceremony room into where they have the wedding breakfast so that I only pay for my 80 chair covers as sashes come free xxx

We found a lady in Herts who did 100 covers and sashes for £150. It's gone up now to £185 and as not married yet, can't review it. I presume i can't put her details on this post so if you're interested let me know. She does Herts/Bucks/Essex/N London and may do further.

chair covers are a great idea but you need to be very careful. I have seen loads where the covers do not fit the chairs properly and it easily shows or where they look a bit cheap even though they cost you a fortune. Wait for a wedding fayre at your chosen venue and speak to the table dressers there.... at least then you can see how the covers will look on YOUR chairs. That is what we have done as there was a clear difference between the company we went with where they fitted nicely, and the others where they were either too tight or very baggy and loose.

my chair covers are £1.85 each the venue wanted £4.80!! just shop about!! try smaller companies as they dont charge so much xx
