I never thought about chair covers, I havent a clue where I would get them from, and do I really need them? I suppose it depends on what the chairs are like doesnt it? It wasnt a problem at the first hotel we booked because she had lovely chairs, but I dont know what the chairs are like at the new venue we have booked. Are you having chair covers? and if so ....how much do they cost?

CommentAuthorRebeccaR36
Im not having chair covers, I havent really factored the cost in. It annoys me that venues have crappy chairs so you have to use covers! I think most venues have a recommended suppliers for covers and sashes. Im thinking they cost about £2 each? But I could be way off mark here!
CommentAuthorAntonia9
im having chair covers as they came in my decoration package, however if you think your chairs are nice enough then i dont see the massive need to have them x

If they are only £2 I wont mind too much....I'd only need 24! but any more than that and they can sit on scruffy chairs! joking aside, i doubt the chairs ARE scruffy.

We are hiring them from the hotel but they costing us £3 each and we need 52 lol but fortunately the deal on the wedding package is really good so we were able to budget for the covers too
my covers are in with the cost of the wedding as my venue provides them with sashs in my choice of colours. i would ring and see what they say they might already have covers you could use.x
CommentAuthorXTeresainLoveX
The chairs are ok at our venue but thought they looked a bit too plain so they'll have white covers and gold bows on the back of them. The chairs in your pic look fine
CommentAuthorMrsKisywisy
we're having chair covers included in the dressing of the room
they are a total rip off!!!!! we were quoted something like 3-4.50 a seat!!!!!!!!! eh..aye...GET TO FRANCE!!!

Our chairs are nice and don't need covers. I do like covers and sashes but it was going to cost about £200 and h2b thinks it's a big waste of money. My SIL had her reception at the same venue and I never even noticed that she didn't have chair covers and sashes. Its quite a new thing to get us to cough up more money I think ;)
Finally Mrs Grove :)
CommentAuthorLegoWife
We're having them mainly for the fact the venue chairs are red and gold and our colour scheme is sky blue and white. I'm not really obsessive over everything matching perfectly but blue and white everything with random red and gold chairs will just look plain terrible lol.

i'm having chair covers cos i love them :) im having my wedding at mine n my partners work place n plus i love it there and easier for all our friends to join in the party after closing the other bar to the public. it depends massively on prices for them ranging from £1.20 to bout £3.50 more higher in diff areas, just need to search for ur area if u want them, the reason i use chair covers is it naturalises the room as the room is red and navy and my wedding is ocean blue n yellow so the more u naturalise it the better :) my engagement party was gorgeous n i didnt have chair covers cos i wanted them for my wedding. but its a personal thing chair covers and as its becoming popular venus are starting to add them on to the wedding price and saying they r included :) but i love them lol xxx

I really dislike the chaircovers and sashes so I'm having none - I'm not even having table cloths because my venue has such beautiful dark wood tables and chairs. All mismatched which adds to the charm. I will however add table runners I made for a splash of colour.
The wedding I went to in the Petwood had chair covers and sashes - in the ceremony room and for the reception.

Our venue have standard red chairs, but they dont match what i want the overall look to be, they wanted to charge us £4 per chair, and i need 100 of the pests!..i said to the co-ordinator that i could get them cheaper,,,,,she argued the toss on it!lol i won...im using a company who come to set it all up for me, do the bows etc, and next morning take them all down again - i dont do a thing ...all for £2 per chair! xx
CommentAuthorOWB
I'm with LMB, I do not like chair covers. I can't put my finger on why, they just make me cringe - I'm the same with tinsel (perhaps I have issues). Our place has wicker chairs and pine tables, not the most attractive, but they work in the setting. I chose the place because I like the atmosphere I'm not going to change it.

I couldn't believe the cost of chair covers when we looked, at 2.50 each with 160 required it was silly money - so we asked for nicer chairs to hire in then negotiated so much with the organisers that we got the chairs (and other stuff) for free!
CommentAuthorjellybean
hi there , id love chair covers but my venue charges £3 each chair , the problem is im having cadbury purple ,and the venue have said they cant get table linnen that colour so ive either to have lilac or sort them out myself . so we getting the table cloths so cant afford chair covers . I wouldnt mind but ive got to even sort out napkins xx
CommentAuthorEMC
The chair covers for my wedding were included in the price with the reception. I would have gotten them anyway I suppose. The cheapest thing I've seen for chair covers was 2.50 per chair.
CommentAuthorJillybean
We're having spandex chair covers and managed to get a FANTASTIC deal with a venue dresser. She let us put a customised package together and she will be dressing the venue and reception room (inc spandex chair covers!) for just under £600. WE are getting alot for our money and I think the chair covers worked out around £1.75 each but I could be wrong. Let me know if you want the details of the company. They're located in birmingham but will travel all over UK - they were recommended to me by a friend and Im so glad I enquired!

I suppose its a question of taste but i do not like chair covers. We are lucky as the chairs in our venue are lovely.I can only imagine wanting chair covers if the chairs at your venue were mismatched and hideous but they shouldn't be in my opinion its just another way for venues to milk you! Our venue charge £3.50 per chair! xxx

I love chair covers they look so nice and can really finish off the room however do not like their price :( thinking of just having them for the top table. The price is well over the top and no need. Its like the actual traditions are being forgotten. x

We didn't have chair covers. Tbh we didn't want them - but luckily the chairs in the venue were actually blue, which matches our colour scheme anyway. I think if a venue has scruffy chairs I'd be worried about using the venue anyway - as if it's a good venue they're going to have decent furnishings (including chairs) anyway.
CommentAuthorZoe81
We're having chair covers and sashes but mainly because the venue chairs are black and gold and our colour scheme is cornflower blue. So we've got white chair covers and blue sashes, £3.50 per chair in total, but we only have a max of 55 chairs so it's not too bad

Were having them as the chairs at our venue are really ugly. Were paying £2 a chair and includes fitting and removal of them too so not to bad :) x
CommentAuthorJoci "The Currypot"
Chair covers and sashes are just an extra spend which aren't really necessary unless the venue supply them for free, which in most cases they don't if your spending £12,000 on your wedding. As my theme is green and cream I've bought lovely organza chair sashes in cream as the chairs are green velour so looks nice with either a fake large flower or a brooch. There is no way I would spend £3.99 per chair as the total cost is £259.35 for the 65 quests.

I won mine in a competition on fb but the woman doing them charges £1.50 per cover plus sash my venue wanted £3.50 each I was like hell no!!!
ours was costing £225 which we though was an amazing package. this included covers and sashes for 100 chairs, swags and bows for top table and cake table.double goldfish bowl table centres and table confetti. so great that there isnt a balloon in sight (my worst phobia)
CommentAuthormadhen
I think chair covers are a bit silly, too, but I think we'll end up having them because hotels never seem to have enough nice chairs for big wedding parties and it would be a bit odd if only some of the chairs were covered I suppose...I don't know...going to see the venue on Sunday morning so will have a look at their chairs!
CommentAuthornatalie2614
Im not having chair covers, my chairs are nice enough in the venue not to be covered up. And to be honest its a running joke with H2B, he threw his toys out the pram when we 'mentioned' chair covers and really took it to heart that i wanted to cover up these chairs that he thinks are lovely (we're getting married in the navy base where he is a reservist!) and now its a running joke because he took such a fit. I didnt even want them in the first place, it was my mother who wanted them!

our charicovers are costing £2.16 a chair but thats with discount as its a friend of a friend, it should be £2.40 a chair she is the cheapest in our area without it looking awful and untidy. Plus the chaircovers we are having are lycra so they will look neater anyway.
ive been quoted up to £3.50 a chair!!

CommentAuthorJennaLouise
Oh dear. I think I'm paying my venue over the odds at £3.75 per chair.... and they've already discounted them from £4.50! Oh well, it's done now! xx
CommentAuthorxxRosiexx
We're having them for the ceremony but not the reception as the chairs in the ceremony venue are black and I think the room looks quite dark with them. I've seen lots of different prices from about £1.50 to £4, no idea why they are so different though!

was quoted initially £5 per chair from venue, got them down to £3.50 per chair but with the high possibility the prices will increase in the Autumn, but just had a quote from the people who are doing our DJ, Starlight backdrop and a few other decorations for £3 per chair. Could get them for £2.50 from another supplier (that i don't know) - but at a difference of only about £35 i'd rather have them done by someone i know and is doing other things for us as well!

I found somewhere for £1 per chair cover including sash with free delivery and collection, there is a £50 deposit but i do think you have to fit them and even wash them yourself x
CommentAuthorstaceyquantick
dont get sucked in by businesses which do them for a £1 i did and got my hands burnt im glad im not using her now. she messed me about said one minute it was £20 deposit which i paid and then rang me up and said it was £50 deposit then i need to hire tablecloths aswell and she quoted me £260 to hire 7 table cloths!! i soon changed which lady i was using now i have a fantastic chair cover lady and she is doing them for £2.16 but id rather pay that little extra and know she is going to be around in 2013 and she isnt just a one time wonder as she has bookings up to 2014 and i trust that she will turn up whereas this other lady for £1 a chair i was doubting she would turn up and wedding planning is stressful enough without having to worry about that xx

we're not sure what chairs we can have in the ceremony/breakfast suite so as soon as thats finalised I'll no whether we're doing ceremony&breakfast suite or just breakfast suite.

We wern't going to bother with chair covers but then i realised the chairs at our venue are a dusky pink colour which really doesn't go with the navy we are having. I need 100 and the quotes we were getting were horrendous. I hunted high and low and eventually found someone to come set it up, take it away, chair cover & sash all for £1.50 a chair and i was happy with that :)
