We've gone for chair covers, but only because the chairs at the venue are pretty ugly! I did find a company that would do it for £2.50 a chair, but they only did organza sashes, the other half wanted satin bless him! So its almost £4 a chair, but they do everything for you. Also having them tied cravat style, will upload photos when I get chance. Will really set the venue off, and to be fair this is my only splurge!! x

I think that's fair enough then :) To be honest, I think it really depends on the chairs - we're not having chair covers but that's because the chairs look fine, if they didn't then I probably would want to spruce them up a bit!

gonna re-bump this conversation! We've recently signed our contract with the venue and on doing so they supply you with a book of vouchers from their preferred suppliers. We thought we would have chair covers (i'm a bit of a fussy monkey when it comes to finishing touches!), and so we thought we'd get a quote from their preferred supplier for these. Looking at £500 for 140! that sounds a lot to me! So we've done some digging and got a quote for £2.50 a chair so looking at £350. Does that sound reasonable? I'm waiting for them to confirm the price though as the original quote I was being a bit blonde and put we only needed 70 (forgot we need 70 for ceremony and 70 for wedding breakfast! Hoping they'll drop the price per chair! xx

The cheapest & best looking chair covers i have seen are priced at £1.50 per chair cover & sash ... debating whether to have them but the chairs in the venue we have will look so much better with them...maybe i could speak to the in-laws considering there not putting anything towards the wedding haha

Helen are you having the ceremony at a diff venue to reception as usually they use the same chairs so you would only need one lot of covers!!!

I think if they come back with £2 a chair we'd be happy with that. Really makes the difference to our venue! Haha what a fantastic exchange for you Lizzylou! Ooo hire people came back and said our venue (she's worked with them before!) would move the chairs from ceremony to breakfast room so would only need the 70! And she'd come back and collect them the next day, so all we would need to pay is £175! So chuffed!

i need to go and have a look at what our chairs look like without covers because we've been quoted £550 by the venue, we were told we can have chair sashes at the same price, and i said no, Il provide my own lol

Am not paying ovefr a grand, just to make my seats look pretty, i might just have to accept the chair cover price, unless i can provide my own... but theirs no way im sitting putting them all on.... id rather just pay the 550 D:

Ours cost £92.50 for 70 white spandex chair covers with a purple sash and delivery and collection. Don't pay £550 for chair covers! Look around, you'll find them much cheaper! x

It's just if I have to actually put them on myself if I provide my own that's putting me off haha, I'll have to enquire further with the even coordinator I think!!

I'd definitely go and check the chairs out Velcro and then do some digging for suppliers! 550 is a lot of money! Ours our blue chairs with a cadbury purple theme and a red carpet.. not good! Our venues preffered supplier was £3.50 a chair and we've found a lovely lady who will do it for 2.50! xx

We're having chair covers as the chairs in our reception venue will look plain and cheap without them

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

would the chair supplier people actually come and do it for you, rather than just giving you the covers and saying here you go have fun haha? I might just see what the chairs look like without the covers, I cant say I give too much of a stuff about what the chairs look like anyway, we're only gunna be sitting on them

Yep the majority of them quote you based on fitting/set up and then come back and collect them too! You can ask for a quote based on hire only and you'll find that will be half the price again, but then you have to fit them and tie the bows as well! I think our problem is we saw the venue with the chair covers on and it really makes a difference (like i said before finishing touches are a big point for me!). Plenty of people dont get them though and there's nothing wrong with that xx
