I am new to UK Brides, have had a gander but couldn't find anything regarding this.
I am getting married in Barnsley, Yorkshire and was wondering when you have to pay the £444 Ceremony fee. Is it on booking it? On the day? a few months/weeks before?

Hi Katy. Welcome to UK bride. You normally get an invoice 6-8 weeks before your big day (depending on your venue). x

Hi Kate. There is usually a booking fee (I believe it was £25 when I paid it) which you pay when you book a date with your registry office. The balance is then paid about 8 weeks before.

It will probably vary from district to district. Best to check with your local office to see. Is it not on your paperwork?
