depends where you are getting married. for instance if its a register office you wont be allowed anything religious like ave' maria.
I can resist anything but temptation

if you're getting married in a hotel, then it will be a registrar marrying you, and you wont be allowed anything religious. check it out before setting your heart on something.
if it's a civil ceremony you are not allowed to have any music with relgious conections ... please check this before you make your CD or you might end up being disappointed ..... we got married in a hotel and the registrar told us when we went to give our notice that this was the case, even if the words are not sung. x

Registrar has to check all your choices - no matter where you are being married.
Pachelbel's Canon is a popular bridal entrance. Also The Bridal Chorus (here comes the bride tra laa laa..). I have also been asked to do instrumental versions of all kind of pop songs - Billy Joel to Mariah to Alicia Keys to the Beatles! Arrival of the Queen of Sheba (played slower than usual) is a good one too... But also, same as all the other posts - go with songs that mean something to you, best way :)

we're having a string quartet - its a great option because they'll play allsorts! Here's what we're having, see if it helps at all: Guests arriving - Air on a G String - Bach Ode to Joy - Beethoven Waltz of the Flowers - Tchaikovsky Mozart Divertimento in D Major
Bridal party entrance: Right here waiting for you
Signing register (probably wont play them all but we were told to choose 4) Your Song – Elton John When I’m 64 – Beatles Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol Amazed - Lonestar
exit of bride and groom: La Rejouissance from the Royal Fireworks - Handel
We've picked nothing with any religious significance or association, even though its not such an issue if its instrumental anyway. I've chosen a pop song for my entrance because i love the tune and the sentiment behind the words. Even if guests cant remember the words, I'll know what they are :o)

We had a list of popular ones included in our info pack from the registrar, spent today listening to all on youtube and then deciding which I like. Think I'll walk down to Canon in D (always liked that) and have Air on a G string (find the title blooming hilarious and it's a nice song), no idea about others. If you just type 'wedding music' into youtube, loads of different things come up and you can just listen to them and pick! I was very tempted to walk down to Metallica (one of the slower or instrumental songs) but just think classical goes with our venue and theme much better and just seems sophisticated!

Blondmumma- I like your choices. I really wanted 'Nothing Else Matters' but H2B's sister had for her 1st dance so we can't really have that!
