Hi guys, I'm meeting my florist this week and I know I want floral centrepieces but that's all I know. I need an idea to go with but I've not a clue! All I know is I'm having the colours cream and purple and for my boquet I want roses and thistles so I'd quite like to stick to that theme throughout. What u guys having? x
Edit - Also now thinking about floating candles - I've added 6 ideas into my photo albums - would love you guys opinions x x

that sounds like a lovely idea!would they be random or identical
the same colours and flowers on each tier, but they wouldnt be exactly identical. I'm having purple, lilac, dusty pink and ivory colour scheme. So thought of ivory roses, the peonies as the dusty pink and then maybe big purple hydrangea or something and i LOVE freesia so probably some purple/lilac freesia thrown in too. But the amount of stems/flower heads needed for each one is a lot, so probably far too expensive. I have thought about using egg stands as well as they are smaller and would only need about 12 stems for each one.

to make that a lil cheaper why not mix silk with real flowers? i looked at old metal jugs aswell, stick some hydrangea in them and i think that might suit my colour scheme, could that sort of thing work for you?
CommentAuthorlinzi
yeah I thought about that. Found a great site in the US that does velvet roses and foam flowers that look gorgeous and their prices are silly cheap. But just a bit scared of ordering from the US and no idea on the numbers I would require. So going to go ask a florist how much they would charge to do it and then see where that leaves me.

Welli am having Flowers on my wedding breakfast tables and then at night they will be changed to Cluster fo 3 ballons on each table with loads of little butterflys
Cant wait to to marry Martyn
Wishes the wedding would come faster
XxX

I am having clusters of 3 balloons on each table as the centre peice as the tables are going to be too crowded! We are already having 5-6 bottles of wine on each table (to share between 10/12 people) and two bottles of champagne on each table in silver ice buckets, so I don't think there will be much room for anything else!

I had tall lily glasses with artifical pom pom flowers in my colour scheme.

We too are having the fishbowl things with flowers and bright multi lights. Though have seen some gel stuff on ebay that comes in some fantastic colours which is making me rethink them slightly.

I'm having candelabras. They would be expensive to buy or hire but my venue has them to use free of charge so I'm lucky. If I didn't have them I think I would have opted for some pots and sprayed them in the wedding colours and then planted some pretty pot plants in them and then given them to guests at the end of the night. What ever you have make sure its not too tall or your guests won't be able to see each other.
CommentAuthorsalamander
I'm having whatever flowers the venue's florist can put together that inclused red and hopefully black roses, if not I will supply silk black roses but I'm sure they can find fake one's themselves it's only top table that' giong to be fresh and I don't mind them all red
CommentAuthorPennylane

I married him and became Mrs Garnham.
It was most definitely the happiest day of my life.

CommentAuthorPennylane
thank you - I know I'm trying to get it as cheap as poss - there is a big florist outlet place near me where I've been told the vases and mirrors are quite cheap to buy, as are the candles but we'll see. I may have to rethink once I price it all up! x

Penny - like the style and height of pic 5, looks really elegant.
hayls (and anyone else who wants a gander) - have put up a pic of the gels stuff now, is in the centrepiece folder. It is called magic water crystal and can be used for candles, flowers and the like. If you put that into the great bay of e it comes up with loads (lots from china/hong kong etc) but there are many from the UK too.
