    Hello all,

I have only just started to try and plan and search online for wedding ideas :) I have realised that the biggest cost will be the price per hear for food and drink. I am not fussed about having a 3 course meal and could have a BBQ etc however some venues are more set on their food and prices. I wonder if anyone has had any good ideas on cutting down drastically this cost ??? I want to share my big day with everyone but at the moment wont be able to afford to provide them food.

    Many thanks
    Fiona

Lots of people are now having later ceremonies with just an evening buffet so that everybody can come to the whole thing. It seems like a fab idea really.

Obviously you have to find a venue that will let you do this, but I think most would as you pay a hire fee to use the space.

It is expensive though, our day guests are costing us between £60 and £70 per head

Ours was £35 a head for a three course and we cut costs by having a later wedding so only had to feed the guests once.

Have a week day menu, our whole day for ceremony/ decorations, welcome drinks/drinks with meal and toasting, and 2 course meal (having cake for desert) and evening buffet is costing us £4250 so for our 100 day guests and another 30/40 eve guests
so around £35 per head for day guests then £5/7 for eve.

Having it on a weeks day massivly reduces cost, on not only venue/food, but also vendors, our photog, video, cake and cars, are all substantialy less due to not being on a saturday when they are at high value.
