Ok, so we've negotiated with our caterers, and have got the list of 5 suppliers down to 2. The price difference now for all guests inc VAT, room dressing and staff etc is only £460, so there's not much in it. We've put a bespoke menu together and surprisingly, both caterers have said they'll do it for us. We've booked one tasting for 1st October, the other the 2nd - figure it all now comes down to taste (Mum has thrown in an extra 500 to the wedding fund so even if we went for the 'more pricey' quote we won't be out of pocket) - however, one of the caterers has said they can't produce all of our menu for the tasting but a good selection (we do have 10 canapes, 4 mains, and 5 desserts!) - do you think this would be enough to base our choice of caterer on or should we ask to taste everything? Aarghh!!

It's quite exciting really as with negotiations we've knocked nearly 30% off the original quotes per head, so money wise we know we're as good as we're going to get - it's all just down to how the food tastes! H2B is looking forward to this bit of the planning the most!!

    whats a good selection????
If they have more then two thirds of the dishs to taste then I would say yes that would be enough to base a decision on.
Less then that then I would ask for more.
