Haven't been personally, but no someone who went for a weekend break there with her partner. I was told that it was lovely! x x x

It's got really mixed reviews online but they do a really cheap wedding package & as we're having a UK reception after Jamaica cheap is good! Bit further away than I'd planned but maybe worth a look!

I've heard that they do some very reasonably priced packages too. The reviews are a bit hit & miss on line but It could be worth a look for you. At least if you go for a look you can see what it's like. x x

I live in Tamworth and have been to a few weddings there. The packages are good but the decor is a little dated but you can always spruce that up. Staff very friendly and as you are right by the castle your photos will be great. Are you looking for somewhere just for the reception or the whole thing?

Just called the co-ordinator, she's really lovely. She sent through pics of the rooms dressed. Hopefully going to visit soon! That's if I can convince h2b!

I've heard some good things about it and to be honest for that price you can't grumble. The castle is around the corner that would make for some great photos. Do you really think your guests will be looking at the walls? They just want somewhere with a bar, you and the groom and they can make a good party no matter where they are. You can then use the rest of the money you save on other things like the house, new car etc.

Also for anyone in the area there is a meet up in Brum on Friday if you are interested. Just search for the Birmingham meet up thread.

We've booked it now. Paid extra for the chair covers to have it a bit smarter. The venue room is fine, if not a little trad, but the bedrooms look dated!! My thoughts r that they should hopefully be tired when they get into bed & pass out! We stayed & it was comfy. Plus at £64 4 a double with breakfast, I'm hoping ppl won't complain too much!

It means the difference of affording a 3 course meal with wine, or a hot buffet with water if we'd stayed in Leicester!

The room we stayed in was peach, lots of peach but the bed was comfy, had a sofa & a tv. I'm getting uber excited now, finished saving for our target budget last night :)

The only thing I would say about the castle being lit up at night is that they need to get rid of one of the pesky street lamps as it means by the time you have got a good exposure on the rest the street lamp burns a lot out. A good catapult should see to that though. Would do me a favour as it annoys me when I'm trying to get a good shot of it. There is also a little bridge that goes over the river further down in the park that is rather pretty if I remember correctly.
