Hi, my H2B and I are thinking of having a casino at our wedding, as we think it'd be good entertainment in the awkward in-between times!
...But, we don't know anyone who has done this or whether it would be a success or big waste of money.
What do people think of them?
Thanks!

My H2B wanted one........... There is a horrid past of gambling in my family (which H2B knows and says no-one will be playing for money etc) The one thing i DO NOT want for my day is for people to be grouped around something and not all together Plus in my circumstances i think it would cause a bit of an atmosphere
I think you can get good prices for them though, not been to a wedding that had one myself

Hi Elle, thanks so much, I never thought of it like that, especially as at our venue it would probably have to be in a separate room to the main area, so I wouldn't be best pleased if everyone disappeared off!

That is one of our pet hates, people scattered about etc! H2B is the one that comes up with a load of "Fun" idea's and i think of the practical side!! Ha
When Venue hunting, a bar in the room was a must for us! We discounted a few beautiful venies beacause the bar was down a corridor, past the toilets or over the other side of the venue!!

I like the idea of a magician, close up table magician for after the meal then milling around doing tricks for that awkward inbetweeney bit H2B does not want one.......
Yeah it's bad enough that our venue has a full sized snooker table upstairs which H2B is banned from disappearing off to!!
I think I will try and steer the ideas away from casino - if I was sure it was right for us I probably would have booked it by now.
I do like the idea of a magician though....something else to think about!

Yeah, i think you must listen to your gut instinct We have found 4 bands now that we liked, got quotes then did nothing about Sat down yesterday and agreed to choose Went for a different band to the ones we had already enquired about and now it's booked!! The other ones i felt i needed time to "think" about it whereas this band was a definate!
Snooker table upstairs......oooh that will be tempting for the boys!!

We're having a roulette table and can't wait - We think it will really go down well as no other weddings we have been to has had one.

I went to a wedding about 18 mths ago that had a casino theme in the eve. Although we had to leave before it all started (as I'd discharged myself from hospital that morning so I could go to the wedding, but I shouldn't really have been out of bed LOL!) I heard that everyone enjoyed it and it was a real hit! They had the dance floor and the tables were scattered around that so everyone was still together.
Vegas baby!

I saw one at a wedding fair and it was great fun, I dont think it will spoil anything cos its only for a hour or 2 to fill a gap. They dont stay all night. We would have one if our budget would allow I say go for it x

Yeah I was just wondering if the venue could maybe squeeze it in the main room, as h2b is really keen!
If we can keep it all together then that might convince me!
