Okay so we have a new idea to help you enjoy UKbride even more (if that's possible!)

    PRIZE BINGO!!!

    Screen Shot 2012-08-30 at 10.07.07.png
    Screen Shot 2012-08-30 at 10.07.07.png

    Here's the plan -

A - You have to be a member of UKbride

B - You have to pay for a game - Price depends on you guys (i.e.: if you only want to pay £1 a game then the prize pot will be smaller)

C - We may run the games Monthly, Weekly, Daily or even hourly - depending on interest.

D - If you win you win cold hard cash to spend on whatever you like - We simply send you a cheque (or perhaps even pay directly into you bank - depends on response from you lovely ladies)

SO here's a poll and leave your comments below -

    Forum Poll

    UKbride Prize Bingo

We are thinking of launching Prize Bingo on UKbride so you can have fun with our 300,000 members. Which applies to you…

I think £1 a game is sensible enough. Many of the ladies on here are saving for a wedding and may not have more than that to spare. If we are allready married we have other stuff to save for. For example in the next 12 months I have to save for a baby, a new car and our holiday. So Could spend a £1 to try and win to put the money towards what I need.
However I also thing once a fornight or once a month for now would be enough while you get it up and running. To get people used to it and if it was hourly or even daily that could be a lot of money loss for some people who just couldnt afford it yet would do it just for the chance of winning if that makes sense? x

I would not be happy seeing this when people are struggling to pay for there wedding it would be just to tempting to gamble a little to see if they could win big. I think if you want to play at something that costs a £1 i would play the lottery or go use a gambling website. its just wrong to put temptation in front of people on a tight budget on a forum that has nothing to do with gambling. but that is just my view

I think if it was a once a month thing, and enough people were interested it could be good. but definitly only £1 per entry as lots of people are strapped for cash

Other bingo sites have a smaller game price, for example up to 50p a ticket, or 1p bingo - also if people are budgeting for weddings I'm not sure having games with higher starting prices would be a good thing, they might log off sooner if they run out of play money, or stay on longer and get themselves into trouble!

what about if you make it prize bingo instead of cash? like you play for prizes towards wedding. eg hairdressing, make-up... the small things.

i think id go for £1 bingo. once a month would be good maybe in the middle that way you have your power user prize 1st of the month then maybe bingo prize something like the 15th, kinda breaks up the month abit then as it feels like ages till the next pu prize

I think £1 a month is a good start, and it should be limited to one ticket per person per entry to stop people getting into trouble by spending too much.

I think £1 once a month is acceptable but I personally can't be doing with all these bingo sites. I think in a couple of years time there will be thousands of people in Gamblers Anonymous sessions because everywhere you look there is bingo or poker sites. I have a close friend who can't resist these sites and she has just announced her engagement, I usually point my friends in the direction of ukb but I might give it a miss with this friend to avoid leading her into temptation.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013

I think it's a really bad idea. This is a wedding planning site, not a gambling site, I play the lottery already, I don't need or want another way to end up out of pocket. I think you'd be opening up a world of complications and tempting people into gambling, especially running an hourly competition, that's 168 potential playing hours a week, even if you restricted entry to one entry an hour (I automatically assume there would be limits of some sort.) How big prizes are you talking about? And how would you propose to filter out under 18s from playing?

Judging by the poll results I appear to be in the minority, but to be honest, the way you've written this makes it sound like you're gonna roll it out anyway. I find it pretty insidious to state that we'd need to pay more to get bigger prizes, £5 a play for anything more than once a week is insane, and even then that's the cost on an annual power user membership... every month. I would have severe reservations about using or recommending a site that took this route to raise funds.

I don't know what to think about this, it seems a little odd to be honest as this is a wedding site.

I think £1 once a fortnight is plenty, maybe up to five tickets max?

But it would have to be a decent prize fund. Xx

I think it would be great! Me and my family play bingo for money for birthdays, xmas etc and its so much fun! It def shudnt be an hourly thing tho cuz that too much. I think once a week would be good like some time at the wkend. Give ppl something to look forward too :) xx

    Thanks for your feedback ladies...

The main idea is to have some fun, small gamble for £1.00 with the hope of winning some money to help you with your weddings.

I am not personally into Bingo at all... is that because I'm a bloke? I don't know.

I guess because we have little sweepstakes in work for The Grand National etc it's a bit of fun and someone always wins!

Perhaps Power User's could consider £3.50 a month and we play one game a month.

There are no plans to roll this out unless the majority are interested. Currently 80% are!

Give us more feedback - we will consider seriously all of your views.

    Thanks

I am in agreement with most on this thread about thinking it is an odd idea and will be taking away from brides who are having to pay out. However we are all adults and should be able to work out if we can afford an extra few pounds a month to play bingo. That said Bingo can become an addictive and expensive habit, as can any form of gambling, so it isn't always that simple.

I do however think a limit of £3.50 a month for power users who wish to play is a good idea. It is a set limit and we wouldn't be able to get all giddy after a small win and stick another £10 on, and another, and so on, and watch our wedding funds slide away, if that makes sense (talking from personal experience there) xx
