A company I have spoken to hire out a white taxi for less money than a normal wedding car.....
limo's also seem to be cheap.
    I'm paying £375 for my car :-(

Cant help I'm afraid as I have had to fork out £575 for 2 cars for a couple of hours. Was going to go with £400 option but H2B preferred the older style cars which cost more. Never mind. Any friends or family with a nice car you could use? Or a nice taxi company? Cheap limo company? Hire a top of the range car from someone like Avis and have a friend/relative drive you?

The prices make me shudder! On my journeys I have been looking out for "cars" - Yep random cars on the street and I found an old vintage RR in brown (would suit theme perfectly) so I stuck a post it on the window asking them to do me a favour. The owner did call back and he thought it was really funny, but the car didnt have an engine or he would have happily drove me for the price of petrol and apint!

There is a company called great escape that do self drive at very good rates and they have different depos around the UK. I got a vintage jag for the h2b and it was £375 for two full days hire rather than £350 for a couple of hours for a driver and car. They do have drivers if you want one but it then makes it just as expensive.

Hahah - I did it when I was moving house and saw a white van on the high street and it was always parked there. It cost me 2 bottles of vodka!

Im the same Emma, I only have a 2 min walk from my mums to the church and then about a 5/10 min drive to the reception and cannot believe how much cars charge!! The cheapest I found was £180 which was for a Bentley but I'm dont know if I can justify £180 for one car for a 1 minute drive to the church and a 5/10 min drive to the reception (even though I understand they will have to wait 60 minutes at the church) still is a lot of money for a max of 75 mins xx

Thanks guys, I looked at the weekend hire rates and still think it's too much. LOL @ Jaesin, I like it :) It's a toughy isn't it ladies. The cost of what makes the day a little special. It still winds me up lol I'm terrible, I just don't believe in spending money needlessly!

I must admit when we started planning i wasn't going to have any cars because of the cost. Then I saw my car and fell in love ha ha. So my Dad whos paying said we must have a car so we're paying £295 hopefully for 2/3 trips then from church to venue as it's only 2 minutes we'll go the long way round. I'll see if I can post a pic of it.

ours is costing £350 for the day, it will be taking us to the church then the recp which is about 20 miles away from church, they have said that if we want they will take BM to church as well but they are taking their own cars as they wont beale to get to venue otherwise and plus some of them are staying over night at venue so need their cars in the morning xx
