CommentAuthorMrs Mara Tester
I was thinking about having one but was £360. this included his expenses and free caricatures for all my guests until about 11pm, but just wasn't in our budget. went to a wedding, that he was drawing at and he was brilliant. xx
I can't believe we've actually done it

The Guy we met wanted £450 for just 2 hours,,,,, I nearly fainted...but i thought it was still a good idea.
CommentAuthorMrs Mara Tester
I'm not sure where this guy is based or how far he will travel. and it may end up more expensive no harm in asking. if you accept my friend request I will post the website on you're wall. x

Dragging up an old thread. Am thinking about having a caricaturist. Seems a great idea to entertain the guests plus you get to keep the drawing. Am going to see if we can afford! :)
Finally Mrs Grove :)

We've got one for four hours between 7 and 11pm. Had him booked since March 2010! x

We've also looked at having a caricaturist but they are so expensive.. so if anyone has one they can recommend for a reasonable price that would be appreciated :-) xx
CommentAuthorTinsel
Asabe, what do you consider to be reasonable? Ours is £350, but we saw a few people for more than that.

We've budgeted £300 for some sort of entertainment between the ceremony and the sit down meal as it's a 1.5hr wait... so we thought we'd have a caricaturist ...
CommentAuthorTinsel
You should be able to find one for £300. Whereabouts are you?

We're based in West Hampstead, London... I've googled it .. 2 that we really liked were booked for our date/time... alot others were more expensive than the £300 that we were prepared to pay as we're also having entertainment for the children (family) that we're inviting as well as dj... *yucks* weddings are so expensive..
We're probably leaving it a bit late :-) xx
CommentAuthorJanie
we didnt like this idea personally, but wanted a majician or clown or soemthing to keep the kids entrtained, well that or Ruth LOrenzo singing live!

Hey JanieWhite... the caricaturists is for the adults... we are having a different entertainment for the children ... which there's only 6 under 16's coming due to us making it a child free wedding apart from immediate family.. .. we've hired a magican for the children :-) xx

Where's your venue Asabe? Keep looking as you might find one a bit further away. Ours is travelling from Essex to Kent, which isn't too far but worth looking around :o)

lol yeah i realised it was for the adults :)
OOOH I would never say a no kids wedding, we love having kids about us, theyre so sweet and spontanious. But i can understand people saying no kids. We just feel theyre part of the family so they come.
Anything like this is SO darn expensive! We'll just shove some music on and let em dance with a bubble machine

@Tinsel oh never thought of looking at ones further afield ... thanks for that idea ... :-) I just looked at London and just on the outskirts.. Venue is in London... Thanks for your advice :-) xx
CommentAuthorJanie
i think ones from outside london would probably be cheaper than ones from inside london as well

@JanieWhite... I so wish that we could invite kids.. but fiance and I will be 39 when we get married and as you can imagine must of our friends have children that would make our 80guest double or even treble.. we can't afford it... it has caused problems but close friends thankfully have been understanding :-) xx
CommentAuthorTinsel
We're having a child-free wedding too x

Talked to h2b and even nearly booked a caricaturist but he wasn't happy spending £375 for someone to draw pictures for three hours!
There will be family children at our wedding but have had to say no, unless people can't find babysitters, for the evening do because of the numbers, not because I don't want children there
My old best friend had no children at her first wedding, not even mine who were her God children and I didn't like that aspect of her big day at all. It was because her h2b had a massive family and she didn't but she loves children so it didn't feel right her not having any there
Finally Mrs Grove :)

I've got one booked for 3.5 hours. £400, including a personalised A2 colour piccie of us two and my daughter, for people to sign on the day
CommentAuthorClareS
we've got one for 2.5 hours for £275 for after the ceremony until we sit down. I'm just hoping it's long enough to get everyone in! hoping that the venue can put a board up so we can put all the sketches up for everyone on the evening to see them :)
CommentAuthormrs-anni-oc
i have mine book for 2 hours costing£210 just to fill the gap between the ceremony and the meal

Hi, All those prices are very interesting. I am a caricaturist myself and I am amassed how some people get rip of. There is a fear price for everything and if you are willing to search we can find what you looking for. I always trying to gave a fear price.

We are looking to get a caricaturist too for our name, haven't really looked yet only met picasso at wedding fayre. We are only having about 5 children at our wedding as there isn't many in the family. only close friends and family. Cousins have children but never met them so they won't be invited. We are having a giant party hence why the caricaturist at our wedding. xxx
