I love doing crafts but am not a very artist person and struggle to picture stuff so am struggling to picture what our theme is :/ i haven't a clue what I'm going for! Anyone else in this boat? I'm worried things are going to clash but I think we have quite a rustic look but not really sure. We are having birdcages with flowers and pearls on and white photoframes for table names to go in. And not really sure other than that haha. Should I be going down a certain route with the theme or just get whatever? It's been playing on my mind a lot too. ( our colours are navy blue and white with dusty pink in the flowers) x

I can only describe our theme as purple. So purple bm dresses with white flowers and I will have purple ones. Our tree centrepieces will hopefully have small fake purple flowers on as it is spring so will hopefully look like blossom.
To be honest sometimes people have a particular theme and it can look OTT because it matches so perfectly so I think if you see stuff you like then have it because it is your wedding and about you as a couple and nobody else. Provided it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb (unless thats the intention) no one else will worry if you have rustic birdcages but very formal roses for your bouquet. X

Pintere$t is a fantastic resource to find ideas and visuals on how your day could turn out. You don't have to have a selected theme exactly as long as its how you picture it.
For my OH and I we're having hints of Alice in Wonderland bu keeping it elegant with a nod of vintage. Basically I'm not wanting a Mad Hatters tea party.
Eg our venues reception area is a pavilion divided into two main parts. The entrance pavilion and the main pavilion. The entrance pavilion will be where our sweet table, chocolate fountain, photobooth, card table and face painting will be and will be more vintage. Whilst the main pavilion for the wedding breakfast and dancing is black and white with purple uplighting, silver candleabras decorated with vines and roses.
Purple sneaked up on us though. Its both mine and OHs favourite colour so he has forgone wearing the family tartan (Royal Stewart) for Hebridean Thistle which is more grey and purple. I have purple in my dress and wearing purple shoes so BMs are also in this colour though originally I had planned on black. The purple part really just evolve on its own and I am very happy with how it worked out.
Good luck :)

I Do love p1nterst and use it a lot for ideas and styles but still struggle to picture it all together. I think once I have the stuff in person it will be easier to picture it which is why I think I want to buy it all now haha. Is there any definite don't dos when it comes to putting things together? X
im struggling to picture our day too. we started with yellow as its our colour then a lot of the things ive ended up buying are rustic and hessian and then to top it off silver has landed in the mix... we have a few different shades of yellow but ive just gone with things I liked and fingers crossed it all fits together on the day

At the moment, go through magazines, cut pictures out and put them all together to get an idea
Our wedding day - 6 October 2012

We are going for a rustic theme. Bridesmaids will be in dusky pink with baby's breath bouquets wrapped in twine. Invites will have hessian. I'm looking into hessian and lace bows for ends of seats in church. We are having a naked cake. Some rustic looking signs off the bay and maybe some hessian bunting on top table and cake table. That's all I can think of. It looks lovely in my mind lol

I did the magazine thing went through over 15 I was given and did cut outs but half of them I've either got something different or had them as a reminder to look into it which I've done so don't need now. Am liking idea of taking photos of what I got but think I need a decent wedding planner as currently use a blank folder which isn't really helping x

Our theme is butterflies and sparkles - lots of bling. Butterflies on the tables, butterfly favour tags, table crystals etc etc. It just sort of fell into place as had a lot of butterfly bits on our engagement party xx

I got a good wedding planner after months of research into them. I didn't like the WH5M1th one but got one from Amaz0n in the end which I like. is an A5 ring binder so can add in sheets easily too. Let me know and I can dig the link out and post it on your wall.

I know what you mean, I have so many ideas but without actual purchasing and seeing it set up it seems it'd just be a mish mash of stuff!! I think taking pictures and creating a wedding pinboard will help greatly. That way you can see first hand what colours go together and if your ideas will look good on the big day.

It is hard to visualise everything isn't it , I started worrying about my décor and bits , but once I started getting the bits and DIY ing them, its all coming together.. one thing is though, when you buy on internet the colour may be different to the shade you were thinking it was going to be... I have bought quite a few things to be then disappointed its not the green or pink I thought it looked like.. hard to tell when you cant see it in real life and all computer monitors colour can differ.. have fun working out what you want , just pick things you like and all will be fab :)

Sorry mrs c. Only just seen this. Will try to dig it out. What I like is that it also has lists of questions to ask suppliers. Not complete lists but all the important things are on there. Will have a look when I get to work
