an old school friend of mine has previously said she will do my make up on the day for £50 including the trial. but i contacted her earlier this month to see when shes available to do a trial, we both agreed the end of the month but ive not heard from her since.
ive got quotes from 2 professional bridal make up artists and it would only cost £85-95 for the trial and on the day. now im not sure wether to let the friend do it or to get someone else to do it. what do you think?

A professional might be easier to tie down to a date? Plus if you're not happy with it you'd be more likely to say so to somebody you have hired whereas you may not feel you can to a friend?

I had a friend do my trial, make up on the day and my nails and toes. Cost me £45. I would perhaps just give her a call and set something up. Seems silly spending the extra cash if your friend can do it at a lower price but make sure you have a trial first.

Personally I'd rather have a professional. Like Hannah said, you would feel like you could be more honest to a professional than a friend. Also, I wouldn't want the stress of having to chase her for a date and time.

But would she be offended if you now told her you'd prefer a professional?

I would go with a professional hun so you can relax and have peace of mind that you wont be let down and you can look at their previous work and know they'll do a good job. Your old school friend hasnt got back to you and with 3 months to go you dont really need to stress chasing her up :) xx

Yeah, i'd personally go for a professional too. At least that way, you're not getting messed about so you can relax in knowing it's one less thing to worry about x

I had temp false lashes, individual ones glued on with eyelash glue and came off no probs when taking my make up off at the end of the night. Looked really good :) x

I'm sort of in the same boat, H2Bs work colleagues wife does hairdressing on the side and has offered to do my hair for the day, I asked her how much but she never got back to me.

I'm thinking do I just go to a professional who can do it all??? I'm in 2 minds at the moment because I'd rather have someone I know do my hair and makeup rather than a sort of stranger. Maybe I should contact her again on the book of face to see if she's gt any ideas of how much she will charge etc.
