Well as some of you may remember, i got engaged back in june 2011 and my parents werent exactly happy as id been married before. I was never sure if they were like this because 1. they paid for all of my 1st wedding 2. some people said maybe they just did not want to see me hurt again (my ex had an affair) 3. i thought they were like that as we planned it 2 years away (i dont think they understood why even though i said it was for saving and because places get booked in advance).

Well thats a year to go now and they are more up for talking about it now which is great, I was telling mum we had gone bridesmaid shopping today and seen some lovely dresses but we are going back soon as my 3rd bm is on holiday.We were talkin about a piper, and i had said that i cannot get a piper that charges less than £200 and that also i am NOT paying someone 200 to pipe for 30 mins nah i refuse that!!! So mum is doing her 1st wedding job and phoning round to try and get us a piper thats not gonna cost loads. So glad mums now in the wedding spirit now.

Im just so happy they are in the spirit of things now :D sorry just had to share as im so excited :D

I had the same problem - my mum didn't really seem interested when we got engaged and whenever I spoke about wedding things she just brushed it off.
Then out of the blue she sent me through some lovely favour boxes saying she saw them and thought of me and sent through other ideas.
I think she just needed time to get her head around it and get excited in her own way!
