hello just a quickie do all venues let you have things like candy buffets, chocolate fountains and pop corn or cand floss cart?
ive saved quite a bit on my bridesmaids dresses buying all of them for the price i budgeted for 1 and was thinking of one of these things ive no idea what sort of prices for upto 100 people did google but none had prices which is stupid.
    anyone doing any of these?

I found sweetie tables for £2/£3/£3.50 per head in my area, don't know if this is typical. We decided to make our own, by going to cash and carry and buying iteresting jars from vintage and 2nd hand shops, they also sell the big sweet jars on bay of e xx

a lot of them we went to ask about quoted £2 per head.
were now doing our own.... weve asked the venue to provide an extra table and weve bought sweets jars from ikea @ 82p each and filling them with retro sweets.....

    works out a hell of a lot cheaper. x x x x

I think you need to ask your venue. Our venue will not allow any food or drink from outside other than the wedding cake.

Our first venue had a no chocolate fountain stipulation as they had recently been refurbished with luxury carpets....they obviously knew how messy my kids are!

We are having a sweet station for everyone but also having arcade style candy grabbers and gumball machines (filled with smarties) for the kids and big kids. xxx

we are doing our own candy buffet. if you love chocolate why don't you do a "chocolate paradise".... start your own trend ;-)

buy all your fav chocolates and either pre fill yourself or have them so people pick their own.

Make sure your venue allows it first

    Hi

For those who are having sweety buffets......what are you having guests put the sweeties in to take away? i cant really find any 'bags' or 'tubs' that i like! There are the usual pink candy strip paper bags but was wondering if any one has other ideas?

    cheers

thanks for your answers all :-)
im drawn between having a choc fountain or as lemlau surgested a chocolate paradise buffet as everyone knows my chocy love
BUT htb is a huge sweety fan so i was thinking maybe have a candy buffet as a surprise for him.
i feel cheeky though as wedding planner has agreed to a cheaper alternative to a buffet saving us £700 to then ask him if its ok to have one of the above hes bound to think hold on that must cost a bit isnt he? x

Just be careful who you book your fountain with and make sure they don't serve you oil with a but of chocolate in it. Also check out your insurance liability cover to make sure it covers you if any accidents happen and it ruins the venue carpets or decor as you don't want a big bill after the wedding.

if i go for a DIY candy/chocolate buffet do i need to get them only in my colours? or does it not matter?
also where would be the best places to start collecting the jars/bowls/glasses?

I wasn't planning on a proper sweet buffet as such, though as there will be a handful of kids at our wedding I thought about putting something out for them. In Tesco last week I saw a huge bucket of haribo sweets for £5, bargain!

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)
