Ok, so me and oh have had a big talk tonight.
We have decided to cancel the June wedding. We have decided instead to go abroad in September/October 2014 instead and get married. Then when we get back we are going to go to the registrar and have a big party somewhere.
It will be cheaper this way and we get exactly what we want :D I get to marry the man of my dreams and get a fantabulous holiday without causing us any stress xxx

It depends where you get married Penguin. E.g. in the USA there's no need as it's recognised in the UK.

Some regions of Spain you need to be legally married in UK before you 'marry' abroad, although its symbolic. We looked into Ibiza and Greece originally in order to avoid family (lol) but too much hassle for us personally with the kids, plus I have OCD when comes to organising things so leaving it to someone else would drive me nuts lol.

Hope you find somewhere you both love and will enjoy.

My friend from work got married in Cyprus, I'm sure she didn't have to go to the registry office, they're wedding was lovely they hired a small private boat for the wedding party to sail around on for the wedding reception. Happy planning.
