Is anyone having canapes? How much is your venue charging? How many per head? And what are you having?
My venue will do them 4 per person for £6.
I am struggling to make a choice though. They split them into 4 sections Brochettes (these all look like kebaby time things i.e prawn and chorizo on a skewer), tarts, Traditional and Oriental.
I fancied Chicken Tikka from 1, Cheese and Onion Pie or Cottage pie from 2, Croque Monsieur or Beef burger crostini from 3 and Spring rolls from 4. My parents are saying I need a fishy option and that I shouldnt opt for 2 with cheese though. So im thinking scrap the tart thing I like and opt for a smoked salmon and chive tart.

We are having canapés.
Ours is similar to yours being £6.75 a person and we can choose 4 options but some we can chose 2 flavours but still counts as 1 option.
I think we are going to be going for:
Bruschetta (1 with tomato, shallot and basil the other with parma ham and mozzarella) Mini Tartlets (Buffalo and tomato and the other cream cheese and chive) Duck Spring Rolls
And then we are torn between mini Yorkshire pudding filled with beef and horseradish and mini minted lamb brochette

We aren't having canapes however I don' think you necessarily need to have a fish canape. I say if you like cheese go for cheese! ^_^

We aren't having a fish canapé as you can see.
We don't really like fish but we are offering a fish choice for a main for our Wedding Breakfast as we are able to offer our guests choices.

We are having canapés at £6.25pp. We are having mini toad in the hole, mini fish and chips and the other 2 options escape me at the mo but its something mini, maybe a kebab of some description?!?!
We wanted 'normal' stuff that everybody would like rather than paying a lot of money for things that people don't generally eat

Crazy in love with the man of my dreams
We're having them....just to give people a nibble whilst they're waiting for the photos.
We have; chicken ceaser crouton, mini blue cheese and leek quiche, smoked salmon something or other and melon and Parma ham skewers.
Tbf, it wasn't a vast choice at our venue but I'm quite happy with what were having.
Mrs cross to be, I wouldnt worry about providing a fish choice - I think most guests will be grateful for anything xx

We had canapés but they were all included in our package. Our venue even made them Chinese style such as satay skewers, spring rolls, tempura battered vegetables etc to go with our fusion theme as I'm Chinese. They're great if you can afford them or are inclusive of your package but if you don't have them, as long as your guests have something to drink whilst you're having photos taken they'll be happy xxx

My caterer is charging about the same for 5.
I'm thinking of mini Yorkshire pud with roast beef, dill blinis with creme fraiche, smoked salmon, caviar and capers, small espresso size shots of pea and mint soup, mini Mediterranean inspired tartlets (VEGE), asparagus spears wrapped in prosciutto served with a hollondaise dip... haven't decided on the rest... will be serving with prosecco served with rosella (wild hibiscus) flowers!
And we lived happily ever after!

our venue are charging £1 per canape and recommend that we have at least 3 per person. we havent picked our canapes yet but i will defintely go for 1 fish 1 meat and 1 veg type. but i wont be going with anything that i dont like myself lol. i went to a wedding last week and there were no canapes - we didnt end up eating till about 5 or half 5 so im definitely going to have some canapes to take the edge off being so hungry and hopefully an ice cream trike too during reception drinks x

Ours is the same: £6 for 4. We have 3 pescatarian guests, as well as a few guests inc me who have a mainly pescatarian diet, so, our options are:
Melon and parma ham swekers Baked figs wrapped in bacon Smoked haddock fishcakes Mozzarella, tomato and pesto en croute
That way all our guests have two to choose from; we're also going to ask for a small number of the melon/fig ones to be just melon/fig.

Yes I really want canapes because we have a lot of family travelling upwards of an hour to the ceremony which starts at 1 so they wont have eaten from about 11am and wont be eating until around 4. My parents are saying it doesnt matter if I like them as I wont be eating them ill be having pictures but the venue told me they hold some back for us. I dont like fish so I would be choosing that for everyone else. We are having kir royale and peach bellinis I think.
