Having the wedding in a hotel, h2b has to meet the registrar 20 minutes before, me 10 minutes before. However, I think it would be "fun" to be traditionally late, even if only by 5 minutes or so (intentionally, obviously it's different if you are late not through choice) but am I likely to get told off by the registrar, epsecially as I have to meet her 10 minutes before the ceremony?

When my sister got married the registrar implied it was rude to be late and then as my mother turned up late (again!!!) she was late walking into the ceremony with our stepdad. As someone who was sat waiting for the ceremony to start we were a bit stuck, once you are sat in the room you really can't leave again and although it was only 10 mins, it felt like 30!
Personally I think the day will be stressful enough on us both without H2B worrying I won't be coming and, in case you're thinking her Mum and stepdad will probably be late again, I've got a back up to give me away! lol
Plus the registrar will probably have to do another wedding in another hotel that day and will want to arrive for the next couple in plenty of time to run through the formalities! xx

I hate being late in general and am always early so I won't be late, our reverend has asked Jon to be 30mins early and for me to be 5 mins early knowing me I'll be 10 mins early it will really ruin my day if I'm late lol sad ain't it

It has been made very clear by our registrar that I am not to be late. However I hate being late and it will take all my will power not to be early (even though I just have to walk down a flight of stairs!)

My husband thought I was going to be late (I usually am lol) - but I was so excited about going in the camper van to the ceremony (just a big kid lol) that I actually arrived 5 minutes early. Well I was actually even earlier than that but spoke to the minister first outside then still 5 minutes early for the actual ceremony lol.

I think we'll be having similar times to see the registrar before the ceremony. If everything is running on time, think I might just have to go a bit slower and be a minute or two late lol x

I went to a wedding in june and the bride was half an hour late ! Groom looked sick as a dog, and it felt like we waited an hour - as we all got there with plenty of time , also some of the older generation didn't seem too happy.
I wont be late for mine as the church is on my road and I don't like to be kept waiting myself. Although saying that - everyone says its your day , your way' so do what you want to do hun xx

I think I might have to arrange it so that I'm late, just to make sure that everyone has arrived before I have lol - some of my family are terrible and even though they've been informed that the service starts at 1.30pm, they could well still be turning up five minutes after that!

I don't think I could stand to be late. I'm usually so worried about being late that even to arrive 5 minutes early is difficult and I end up being 15 minutes early instead. Like my old boss used to tell me, "if you're in five minutes early you are already five minutes late"!

I can't be late to mine as the church has another wedding booked in after mine, worried about getting all the photos I want without the other brides family getting in the way lol plus my H2B said if I left him waiting we wouldn't be getting married he doesn't do worrying lol I think a 5 min delay is alright xxx

to a point yes, unless like I say you can't help it due to unforseen circumstances, but a few minutes isn't going to make that much difference. I wouldn't dream of being hours late or anything!

Kaya - the same sort of thing nearly happened to us. As I was approaching the venue in the campervan, the last six guests (my cousins and spouses) were just arriving, but were heading for a 'quick one' in the pub next door lol.

As they saw the campervan and waved to me - I gave them a stiff point towards where they should be - then they realised that they didn't have time for a drink and could do that after the ceremony lol. By the time I'd spoken to the minister they'd managed to get seated so weren't late.
