I have 5 bridesmaids; all different shapes and sizes, different heights, different skin tones, living in very different places (including abroad), so it's difficult to get them all together.
Our colour scheme is black and white. I was thinking of suggesting that as the Christmas season is coming up, they should look for a black dress that they would like to wear at the wedding (I don't mind them being different, but would prefer them to be matt and to the floor). I'd give them a budget; if they can get the dress and the shoes out of the budget then they won't need to put any money towards it. If the budget only covers the dress then they'll need to get the shoes. They could also wait for the post-Christmas sales and pick up a bargain before the VAT goes to 20%.
Does that sound fair? We're thinking about £70 for each maid - is that enough?
Any advice gladly received :o)

or you could set up an Id on style shake, pass it out to them and tell them to go and design their own dresses. Just tell them what fabric and what colour to use. That way they all get matching dresses that they are comfortable in. But they would need to get their own shoes!

put style shake into google then you will get the website. You can design your own dresses, tops, skirts the works! its awesome. I had a look at designs other people had done in the online gallery, found one that was similar to what i wanted and then just edited it. Not ordered yet tho

It's a great idea. At least they all get to wear something that they're happy with. With the amount of black dresses in the shops in the next few months (and the sales) they'll be spoilt for choice. Many of them may also already have suitable shoes. x

Style Shake is a good idea too! x

Sounds very reasonable. I bought the dresses for mine but left shoes up to them but this is a good alternative, means everyone's happy with what they get too x

Thanks. I didn't want to sound like I didn't care what they bought (as obviously I do!) but I want them to be happy in what they are wearing and I can see it getting very stressful catering for 5 ladies :o)

I've been to Germany twice; once when I was 13 and again at 14. I quite liked it. They were so advanced on things like recycling, renewable energy and it was SO clean and green everywhere I went.

I grew up there; I thought it was so weird when we moved here and only had one bin instead of four! They are pretty advanced in that sense. Not so much on some other things. Glad you like it though Dove :) I've heard the language is one of the hardest to learn so good luck to you, I have faith :D
