These might be daft questions, but I got married in a church before and I was young and other people did everything for me!! I live in Nottingham, so I have to register my intent to marry here...however, we're thinking of taking a few family members to Spilsby to marry in the registry office there - is that allowed, to cross county borders? If so, do we have to visit Spilsby register office beforehand to book the date or can it be done by phone and post?
If we can do this, we're going on to Chapel St Leonard then for photo's on the beach etc. with a party later in the year.

i think you can get married anywhere but you have to give notice in the town/city you live in? Im not 100% sure but I gave notice in one town and getting married in another which are not in the same county. You just have to send your notice of marriage to the registar in the town you are getting married in once the 14 day notice thing is complete.
I think you have to live at an address for X number of days or weeks before giving notice too. Like i said not 100% sure as its nearly a year since I gave mine and also changed addresses a few times so I have forgotten a few things but im sure others would know on here too.
Funny enough i now live in the county i am getting married in but didnt when i gave notice.
