I've seen these cakes that are made to look similar to a wedding cake, but are made out of cheese.
Has anybody had one? They look stunning, I was thinking of having one for the evening reception as an alternative for those who don't like sweet things. Did your guests eat it, or did a lot of it get left? I was thinking maybe with some crackers and grapes and chutneys...however would it be too fiddley as part of a buffet? Xx

I love those cheese 'cakes', they look great. I've never been to a wedding that had one though and were not having one, so I don't know how much of it would get eaten. Maybe it depends on how many guests you have? X

We had one as we had a hog roast so did a cheese cake as an addition for the veggies - it went down a treat, we had a cheese cake to serve 80 and had approx 100 guests, there wasnt much left at all. Everyone loved it! Only disappointing thing was the venue cut it up rather than stacking it so I never got to see it all together :(

Yeah - they're a little traditional. I've been trying to convince them to allow fire dancers too.
CommentAuthorLauraJo87
Yeah that's where I saw them first, I don't think they're too badly priced really xx

Yeah it serve it with nice breeds, crackers and pâtés. We are having a cheese Buffett in evening, very similar but not like a cake as a nice change to a boring kids party Buffett xxx

Mine was meant to be 4 tier if it were stacked! We got these little heart pastes (fruit and red wine flavoured) to put on top too, and chutneys, crackers and fruit to go with it!

I've seen some prices online and they work out about £2 a head. If you go to a local cheese supplier (or ask caterers) then you may well be able to get it much cheaper, the catering people at my venue say that cheese for about 100 with crackers etc included would be about £100.
